Joe, Thanks for the videos... lots of good info! You are very familiar with the Bolt Pro. I just got mine and have one issue. The handlebars are not 90 degrees to the wheel, so when I drive straight ahead, the handlebars are about 5-10 degrees to the left. Are you familiar with an adjustment to align the wheel to handlebars? There's an allen screw visible when the post is folded down. Wondering if that might let me make an adjustment, but I don't want to mess something else up by trying to loosen it... your thoughts?
@JoediyLab
@JoediyLab 3 жыл бұрын
Hey Ed, great question. If you loosen the handle bar quick release and fold the handle bars down there is a bolt head there. I am assuming you can loosen that bolt and hold the front forks and rotate the forks to align the wheel with your handle bars. If that does not work let me know, I will try it myself.

Hi, thanks for the video. Today was my very first time riding it. My question is about wheel balance. When I lift up the rear, and use the throttle, I can tell it's not really balanced. Is this normal?
@JoediyLab
@JoediyLab 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gracie, my rear wheel has a very slight up and down wobble. but nothing is rubbing. Put a block of wood under the kickstand and then take a pencil or wooden dowel and tape it on the frame close to the wheel. Rotate the wheel and see if the rim is moving from side to side or up and down. If it is too bad you might have a bent rim. but more then likely is the the same wobble I have.
@TheGracieVshow
@TheGracieVshow 3 жыл бұрын
Thanks, I think it’s the same - a little up/down wobble so I feel better adopt it. But I do have different question. I have a slight “hum” sound from that rear wheel. I tested the pads by loosening the round tensioner thing, but it’s still there.
@JoediyLab
@JoediyLab 3 жыл бұрын
@@TheGracieVshow Yes that hum is normal, You have the electric motor in the wheel, you have the sprocket on the rear wheel which free wheels when you stop pedaling, you have bearings that the wheel rotates on. I even hear a little clicking, that is from the sprocket free wheeling as well. I think you are ok. But these are great questions. You are listening and observing. Great job.

By replacing the brake pads will that fix the brakes if your brakes don’t work I’ve had this bike for less than a year
@JoediyLab
@JoediyLab 3 жыл бұрын
What is the problem? Check that you have pad material on the pads. If the brakes do have pad material then check your adjustment, as show near the end of the video. You could just be out of adjustment. As the brakes wear, the pad to disk clearance increases, The brakes do not work as well. Adjust and try again. If the pad s are worn then replace and re-adjust. Great question

There appears to be space on the right side of the break disk, but none on the left. Any suggestions? Thanks
@JoediyLab
@JoediyLab 3 жыл бұрын
Hi Gavriel, Yes my front brake has that space as well. The rear is spaced evenly. It looks like one brake pad is wearing just a bit faster than the other. This is common. Keep an eye on that brake pad and change it when it wears down. Always make sure you have enough brake pad material on both sides of the caliper.

@@JoediyLab I'm not around it right now but when I get home I will try and see if either of those things help. I think my problem is coming from the "Hard Wire" thing on the other side of the brake pad assembly/kickstand. It tightens the chain the further I screw it in with a 10mm. I had it on wrong at first tho everything was cool when I put the brake pad assembly back on, it's only when I realized I didn't put the "hard wire" back on right & undid it then I ran into this mess with no matter how loose I make the pads it still gets snagged or caught on the disk. It's probably a symmetry thing as I don't think I dropped it or bent the metal at any time it just won't fit together now. I wonder if I can get the problem corrected with more tinkering but appreciate you replying fast. I will let you know if I resolve the problem, this is my friend's son's bike but if it doesn't make me totally frustrated(this came from fixing a flat) then I may get one for myself.

I can't find your email. My problem comes from not being able to tighten everything once I put the wheel back on. At that point I'm supposed to spin the wheel so to make sure it's not getting caught on the brake pads but it barely moves because the disk is caught on the brake pad or the mechanics are so close together that it's catching up the disk. So I don't know what to do about that I guess just keep trying different combinations until it's a smooth spin and I can tighten all the bolts back w/o it getting caught
