Jetson BOLT PRO - MAX Speed Test - Week 4
I got my Jetson Bolt Pro for $299 from Costco and love it. I have been asked how fast does it accelerate and what is the TOP speed of the stock Jetson Bolt Pro. Well in this video I used my smartphone GPS and Insta360 ONE R camera ( amzn.to/2Eaqj4T ) to get a speed test!

I took my Jetson Bolt Pro to a local university road as it has a great vista and a long circular road surrounding the campus. The limited traffic was safer for me to run these speed tests with a hand held action cam. I used some of the electric range getting up the hill. But afterward, I rode around campus after work. I must have rode the bike for about 10 miles with pedal assist and without. The max EV throttle speed i got was about 14-15 mph. The max speed with the stock crank drive train was clocked at 17.78 MPH . If it is modified with a larger single speed crank and chain ring, it should get up to 18-20+ MPH top speed with pedaling. I would use the bike hub motor to get to speed and then use pedaling to cruise at about 15 to 18 MPH.

Great video, WT. I bought one myself after seeing one used by a crew member on set a couple of weeks ago. Fun little e bike with decent speed, though I wished it had the standard option to go at least over twenty mph.

These are all over paramount. They're getting more popular at Uni. It sucks that the lot where they would come in handy the most (Warner bros) they're the most difficult to get on. You have to get a pass for any bike over there.

Great video, great information, I was actually thinking about getting this bike, because every once in a while when I drop my car off at the shop, I can just put it in the back of my car or the trunk ride it home charge it and then when my car is done just ride it back. Plus it just looks like a lot of fun.

Or just get a folding bike. Just as convenient but you wont have to deal with a battery issues after1-2 years.

i have a bolt and bolt pro. i was able to unlock both bikes to 19 mph. you need to download the the 6.2.7 version of the ride jetson app. connect to the bolt and change the speed to 19. with the bolt pro, it's kinda tricky. you need to remove the bluetooth controller from the bolt and connect it to the bolt pro. they use the same controller for both bikes. connect to it via the android app and change the speed. both of my bikes are now 19mph

Retsudo Ogami so you got the link to the old 6.2.7 version jetson app? So this app will be the one to use to activate the pro when you take the BT from the old bolt ( found out you don't need to cut it it has the plug wrapped up) and connect to the new pro. So after enabling it to 19 mph you just disconnect the BT from the new pro and it will work like the old bolt where u have taken out the BT already? A fellow vlogger by the name Dad's provided a link to a BT on amazon for $14 but this it says only works on ios or iphones only. Would you be willing to sell your BT ?

@@SterlingW8 no you need the small chip BT from the old bolt and old version software to enable both bikes then disconnect.

@@harsep i gave DAD the idea on how to unlock the bolt pro from my channel. He made the video afterwards using my idea. My bolt and bolt pro use the same controller. I did not need to cut anything since the BT controller from the bolt just plugs in to the bolt pro. For the app, i googled the 6.2.7 version for the RIde Jetson app. Once you’ve unlocked the speed on the pro, the controller remembers the speed settings and the BT can be reconnected back to the standard bolt. I left my BT connected to the Pro, since that’s the ebike i use for some errands.

@@craz1825 that BT on Amazon won't work . 3 different vloggers confirm that BT works on IOS or Iphone app. My friend just bought a refurb. Jetson bolt to get a hold of that BT. from it. He got it to go to 18.6 mph on the phone app. with the wheel raised with no load..using the old version app.Will try on the bolt pro that he and I also got from CostCo recently and see if it unlease the true 350w motor they say that it is. Other wise will buy a controller (universal on amazon) . Saw one for $10 a 36v/42 v 350w controller. Go on YT and look for vlogger with the name starting with Vuan... explains in very good detail how the controller is installed on an E-bike. I checked that vlogger his name is Vuaeco does an excellent job explaining the ebike controller.

Its like a clapper..a piece of plastic mounted on a spring..u push the tab down and let it rock to hit the bell opp. of tab.

Hey when you move the bike does it make any clicking sound and when you are using the power/throttle without pedaling is it suppose to make some sound because I bought two of these and I hear something when it goes. Thank you

@@GhostShooz I would settle for 16 mph😭 I can't even maintain 14.5 mph using full throttle on flat surfaces. It always bounces between 13.8 - 14.5.

Let's hope there are upgrades mods in future or someone do a dyi with more ah battery that fits or carry it aboard. If I can't ever get speed I would then want a battery of it's 36v but with more than 6.0ah. this in turn would give longer range?

Hey Sterling, Is there a limiter on the bike if you go downhill? It would be nice if it didn't. I know on a normal bike I have been able to go 40 mph downhill.

The limiter is only on the motor drive. So if you're going down hill it doesn't affect it.

Going up its going to slow down a bit and it be better it you pedal. My other ebike with 350 watt can easily do hills.

Bought one also from Costco the pro version. So far so good went over 20 miles now. No need to make it go faster like the old version bolt.
