It's like a super high performance cross between karting with the home engineering and chassis tuning and autocross with tight and technical short timed courses. With a mix of engine and drive/pump tuning thrown on top of it while being in a boat. I am fascinated by how open the rules are really on all the classes, drivers get a lot of freedom in their power plants and hulls compared to other motorsports it seems like. I love this series it hits so many of the things I love.
@JollyRoger9072 жыл бұрын
That’s a cool way of explaining it 🤣

I can see where keeping it simple is better! You can repair anything on the boat you need to without removing anything, with an exception of the motor lol. Can't wait to see the new hull come together..

For the gas pedal mount. Rivnuts

I will probably eventually get a rivnut kit! But still, the only thing that doesn’t rattle loose on these boats is nylocs!

What about a dual cable throttle like a street bike? So that the deceleration and acceleration is snappy?
@JollyRoger9072 жыл бұрын
I’m not familiar with those on a setup like this.
@seanaskeland5152 жыл бұрын
In such a set up, one cable is responsible for opening the throttle while the other cable closes it. Besides the functional aspect, there’s a safety feature with it. With a push/pull throttle set-up, should the spring fail or slide get stuck, twisting the throttle will pull the throttle linkage back to idle - so there’s an assurance despite a part system failure.
@seanaskeland5152 жыл бұрын
It may not work though

would a ratcheting binding setup like a snowboard binding help for the fuel peddle or would it be bad if you needed to get out quick?
@JollyRoger9072 жыл бұрын
People use different types of hoops/bars over their toes. I don’t want to be clamped into it, just enough to be able to lift and keep my foot from sliding around in it.
@jason41092 жыл бұрын
That makes sense you wouldn't want to be upside down and the find out you can't get your foot off the gas peddle

Why not use a stick, as in a aircraft, instead of a wheel / yoke? Rules?
@JollyRoger9072 жыл бұрын
I contemplated that a few years ago but abandoned the idea. No rules preventing it.
@georgedreisch26622 жыл бұрын
@@JollyRoger907 years ago, I had a Sleekcraft with a Jacuzzi pump, that had a rack steering with a push-pull Morse cable that was sloppy, and the price of the equivalent wasn’t reasonable to me at the time. I ended up putting together a short stick using a shortened UH-1 cyclic stick, and assorted bell cranks and control tubes, so as it did left and right, and had fore and aft controlled the throttle. Worked ok, but was twitchy it being mainly a lake / river boat.
@JollyRoger9072 жыл бұрын
@@georgedreisch2662 that’s awesome! Twitchy isn’t good! I’ve loosened up My steering more and more each year getting it just right!

Have a question if you had access to a hydrolic steering system would you be interested it literally brand new 900.00 system I bought it and it did not fit my need . And the company had shit customers service so I bought A more well know system and still had to jump through a bunch of hoops to get it hook up . Never had fluid in it . I could let it go for really cheap like make me an offer. I love boat of all kind . I have a non productive channel with some of my boat that I have rebuilt . Hope to come to an event in person someday
