im still surprised when toylines like this manage to persist beyond the initial explosion, hexbug and beyblade have pretty much been going strong ever since they launched, but they keep such a low profile that you hardly realize they’re still there.

My son really enjoyed your previous hexbug nano video and asked for a set for Christmas. He wanted an old set based on what you'd said but in the end I got one of the new set and he loves it so far. The 'flash' one I find irritating but also oddly amusing in a way.

I like the old system more than the new one. the lights looks really nice. I would like t see some of the new stuff( like the green tracks) be integrated with the old. Building a huge HEXBug world ist just the best. But everything should be somehow compatible.

I’m honestly curious to see if the other “species” of HexBugs interact with the ‘ants?’. I wanted to buy some yesterday, but all they had was a scorpion and I’m not sure how compatible they are in the city building aspect of the toy line.

The scorpion doesn’t work great with nanos and their tracks because the scorpion is too big and the nanos get stuck in the scorpions legs

these actually arent ants! these are just their own thing, hexbug actually made two different types of ant, with strange movement methods and capabilities.

From what I’ve seen, the flash nano actually works better with the old stuff. The new walls are all slopes, so the nano flash rams into the slope and falls over, unable to get up because of its harder outer material. But when it hits the old flat walls, it’s perfectly fine.

I like the old stuff more than the new stuff because on the new stuff the curves have more sharper edges and hexbugs can get stuck on the curves causing a traffic jam. Edit. One more thing to mention if they just put the old stock track with the new neon colors that would be the best nano set ever

They're like hot wheels, but better. And by that I mean in the sense of playability because the appeal of Hot Wheels is more towards the collector side of things with different cars but with Hexbugs they're essentially a more organic form of what I wanted hot wheels to be, a set that functions on its own but you can influence their behavior using external means

Like cars that have it's own movement patterns, maybe the track now has city areas and in these city areas there are modular buildings that have different attributes and different cars will frequent different buildings, but of course that's too complex so if it just drives at random but based on a set track then that's enough

It might be my trash attention span but I liked the old track color scheme alot more as it allows you to focus in on the actual bugs and what theyre doing at any time where as this I just feel like Im looking at a blur of color and I lose track alot easier

i bought the nanotopia and the flash ones are the only problem I have, they are cool yes but they can’t flip over if they flip, also they can’t make it up some of the tracks and they usually just knock over the slow hexbugs. I put them in their own enclosure where they can Leave but they mainly stay there.
