The biggest Pike I lost, I'm sure it would still be my PB to this date it happened like that, I casted far managed to hook a perch while it was still far as I'm reeling it in suddenly the perch became heavy like a log, I thought I got snagged😅 but what ever it was I was managing to pull it slowly, when It finally surfaced I realised it was a big pike😂 I remember being so confused at the time but I did what I could to get it close to the edge, he wasn't having it, every time he got close enough he started peeling away again, my mate grabbed my net without knowing the handle could be extended and stretched as much as he could without falling in the water but instead of netting it he only managed to touch the pike on the tail, the pike got all crazy and suddenly opens it's mouth and a perch came out flying straight towards my face😂 still hooked, I just managed to dodge it😂 the pike's gone, I'm absolutely gutted, look back the perch is on the floor alive and well, not a scratch, put it back on the water and it took off like a rocket. That happened last year in September I believe. To this date I can't stop regretting not being able to catch that fish🥲 got a cool story to remember with my mate though 😂
@adventurefishinguk2 жыл бұрын
Haha sounds like quite the experience mate! Definitely a story for the grandkids that one. Sometimes it's good to lose a fish like that, it'll get bigger and bigger now every time you re tell the story 😂 Or at least it would for me! Thanks for watching 👍

Seriously.... "just saved this perch from the jaws of a pike" whilst dipping said perch in and out of the water to attract said pike back. Pike will attack anything, including the soft lures you are using. Your set up is in my eyes irresponsible when knowing the water you are fishing is full of pike. 0.12 braid with 40cm 0.40 Fluo and 40 cm knottable Titanium attached per mini swivel is pike proof and trust me will not affect the lure action/numbers of perch caught.
@adventurefishinguk2 жыл бұрын
Unfortunately the place I’m fishing is far from being ‘full of pike’, as much as I’d love it to be! This is the first time anything like that has happened there. And I know what you mean with wire trace, if there’s lots of pike somewhere I’ll use one with treble hooked perch lures but something like a tiny single hooked micro jig I dont

@@adventurefishinguk I fish Micro jigs with the set up I described to be on the safe side. Titanium as opposed to wire is extremely flexible. I have landed catfish and pike upwards of 1 metre whilst fishing for perch using it. Maybe try it some time. Would be an interesting angle for a Video.
