What a cute radio and sounds ok to me. The wiring of the vol pot is weird. I guess engineers love to dazzle us with their brilliance lol

Yeah Frank, that volume pot wiring is confusing as hell. If the output is the wiper (which usually is) but the wiper is going to chassis which is also the B-side. We know that the B- has to complete several circuits but why isn’t one of the end nodes going to ground instead. It’s even weird that the volume pot is wired in the RF circuit instead of being wire closer to the output circuit. I got the schematic from Nostalgia Air and was hoping a knowledgeable viewer could clear up this mystery.

Does that radio use a household light bulb 💡 behind the radio dial? If so, it looks like 👍 you're in luck with that one. Just don't use too high of wattage of bulb. Also DO NOT use a halogen light bulb. Even at the correct wattage, they get considerably hotter, and could possibly catch the radio 📻 on fire 🔥. Your friend, Jeff.

It requires a 25 or lower-watt incandescent light bulb only.

Hey Ken, nice video. What type of AM transmitter do you have?
@kenslab1973Ай бұрын
I have the Hurricane Intelligent AM medium Wave Transmitter without the Bluetooth and remote (all optional), ships from UK. No radio reception where I live. Thanks for watching and your compliment.

Just a note. This looks like a TRF; no oscillator, no IF, but dual tuned RF stages. Just sayin'.

Yes, it’s a TRF radio which I did mentioned in my video but obviously edited it out unintentionally. The tuning condenser is a dual gang for RF. Thanks for correcting my mistake there.
