These videos are really cool. I appreciate the informative subtitles too, so I know what I'm looking at lol.

Plus they're used industrially! Their chimeral structure is really beautiful, like a sculpture. You're so lucky to be able to observe the world the way you do!

The subtitles are great. I love to learn about what I'm seeing, so tell us everything - the organisms' usual environment, what they eat/produce, how they move, reproduce, how long they live, what preys on them or how they die ... all that life cycle info. Microbiology is amazing!

love the caption commentary. love learning stuff along with the visuals.

Beautiful video showing them moving out of their tube. They do look like little jewels. I had no idea they produced so much oxygen. The addition of subtitles is a very good idea.

I discovered your videos from the sad footage of the microscopic organism dying, and immediately subscribed. I like the videos with subtitles, I check KZbin more than Instagram and find it better to watch things on. Keep up the good work! 🔬

That’s the hard thing for a content creator, finding music with a broad appeal that fits with the subject material that won’t get hit with a copyright violation.

My professor called diatoms "Party in a slide". He was awesome. On the last day of college, we brought him a giant 12 inch cookie with frosting illustrating diatoms with the caption, "Party in a Slide!" He really loved it, lol.

The Ocean's Penne Pasta. It's really interesting to see what I assume are patches of photosynthetic organelles lining the cell walls!
@peytonador93245 жыл бұрын
Fun fact: when diatoms die, the cell wall doesn't instantly decompose, and a whole bunch just kind of like up and make a dust-like substance. Each shell is so sharp, that if an insect were to walk on a pile of diatom remains, it would be cut and probably die.

Frigging awesome, if you could go into how they reproduce, or give something to scale them against (grain of sand etc). How do they make these weird tube things etc

Anybody looking to get into microscopy, there’s a fantastic book called “Fundamentals of Light Microscopy and Electronic Imaging” by Douglas Murphy. I’d be willing to bet money Jam’s read it. It’s expensive though. But just search books, articles or videos about microscopy if you’re interested in the topic.

Between looking at the diatoms and reading the subtitles....🤔🤔🙄. You should have narrated the script.
