Two of my granddaughters transferred to private schools this year. So they are not allowed to wear dangle earrings but they can wear studs. I like to give them things that I made so these will be perfect! Thank you Susan.

I've made hook earrings before. But I have never made a post earring! I like to use sterling silver wire because I have a bad nickel allergy (my skin ends up looking like I have radiation poisoning!). Would 20g hard sterling work as well?

Love them! So will it also hold well if the wire goes through both holes easily? And won’t the post go out of place at times because it there’s just a bend and nothing holding it in place like a wire wrap? Thanks for sharing!!

The "wire rounder" is called a Cup Bur. The earring are pretty I'd add some maybe 24 or 26 gauge wire just to secure the posts in place.

These are so pretty! My ears are gauged up to 16g so I'm not sure I can get this to work exactly the same, but maybe there's something I can do differently on the back. My favorite type of earring right now are sprials, just because they fit and I can put them in and forget about them.

I love this tutorial! Great idea with beautiful result💓 For the dangle earrings is it possible to make it so the wire goes through the bead but does not cross the bead, going around it instead?
@JewelSchool4 жыл бұрын
Hey Amy! Sounds like you're talking about creating a bezel set look. It may be difficult with this project because keeping the wire tight enough to stay in place around the entire diameter of the bead would be a bit tricky. Give it a go and share with us on Facebook! We'll also be doing some experimenting ourselves :) facebook.com/JewelSchool

@user-lr5cx1ni4r3 жыл бұрын
I love these. Thank you so much for this tutorial. Can you use half hard wire or is it going to be too stiff to use?
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hello! You can use half hard wire absolutely. It will be a little harder to bend than dead soft wire, but once you have it in shape it will hold. It's great for making ear wires!

Do you find this metal as non-irritating? I know it depends on the person, but generally speaking.
@JewelSchool3 жыл бұрын
Hi! This is a plated wire, which means it's a base metal (usually copper) and the coated with a sterling silver or gold. So the coated part is what will touch the ear. If you're really concerned about it, you can get pure metal wire in silver and gold, but it will be a bit more expensive.
