JEWFISH on the Central Coast (Kayak fishing Big Bream and Jacked Jewys)

Chappo and Ciaron dust the yaks off and take them up to Brisbane Waters for an afternoon dangle. Although the weather was a little bit average, getting onto some nice sized fish always brightens up your day and these two Jewfish made for quite the session.

The lighter the better. I’d go 12-15lb main and 15lb leader

My set up is a Sol III 4000 with a Daiwa TD Black Deepstrike with 15lb braid and 12-20lb leader with small metal vibes

It’s a metal blade vibe my friend. And I’m spooled wirh 15lb j braid and 20lb leader

So how deep at the rip and is it all rocky and snaggy?

Fishing the deepest points (15-30m depending on tide) with a soft rubble/reef bottom which can at time get snagged but can usually pull off

They aren’t super fussy about time of day just as long as you fish around the change of tide. I find high to low is the best. If you fish around those times it’s your best chance legend.

It’s a Daiwa TB black deepstrike 2-5kg. By far my favourite rod to use out of all the ones I own. 3 piece too so perfect for travel 🤙🏼
