As a secular Jewish woman I really enjoyed watching these 3 eposides, to see the "other" side. In WW2 my orthodox Jewish grandmother stopped [out of fear I guess] "being Jewish" so no kosher food etc. She had to wear the yellow star though but luckily she survived the war. That way my mom never learned how to be an orthodox Jew and therefor I never learned to be an orthodox Jew. Now I'm older [62] I start to long for knowledge about Jewism. I suck it all in, I'm just to chicken to just go to a rabbi here in my city [Amsterdam] and ask him everything I want to know, so ... I watch KZbin for knowledge... . I also long to go to Israel and especially Jerusalem, unfortunately my health is not good enough to travel.

It's the same, they're interchangeable. My daughter and I sometimes look at Jewish blogs for hijab ideas and I know that some Jewish ladies look at Muslim ladies for inspiration. I am a Christian man, raised Catholic, I am reminded that Jesus or Yeshua was a Jewish man, and that Jewish cult was how Christians were seen at first. Having watched this with interest I have to say yes it is a very close community but it seems that a lot of time is spent circumventing The Law, Jesus said that the Sabbath was made for man and man not made for the Sabbath. As we look at the Passover what do we see but the same event played out in the Last Supper. Jesus sat with his men on that sabbath evening and partook in the meal, Look at the numbers of men, it was a Minion. Christians are so closely related to these people we could be Messianic Jews. If we want to understand just what Jesus was about and why He did things look at the Jewish People, They are doing the same things for three thousand years. I did notice that a lot of things that they do is the same as we Irish Catholics do at the time of death. The covering of mirrors and open a window and so on, Peace to all those that are living here on this planet, May G-d Bless and Keep you all.

Some Conservative Jewish communities in N.Y. USA I understand are on government assistance with so many children. Sometimes women work out of tbe home .I saw this on Utube. I enjoy Sonya's Prep. She is a school nurse with five children. She is extremely organized and efficient and has her home in complete order. She shares receipes as well as sharing her beliefs.

As a Jew myself, I've always found it thought-invoking how you mustn't touch the fruit of the tree for the first three years - that is why their hair isn't cut for the first three years, but a brit milah after 8 days is fine?!

Upsherin is a hasidic custom that has found wider acceptance in haredi circles. It has nothing to do with the commandment not to harvest fruit off the tree for the first 3 years. Brit milah is a positive mitzvah from the torah. Please learn more from jews

well, if you are a jew you should know why brit milah is performed at 8 days for a jew..13 years for a muslim. at 8 days, vit K has the highest value in all your life. As for the mistical-cuantic reasons, you should study the Zohar..

A few possible reasons: mom might no longer be nidah, by day 8 baby is guaranteed to have had a shabbat, it's the thing that makes you Jewish so you have to do it right away, Adam's bris was done on the 8th day. It's also suprarational (see Manis Friedman's 'my G.d is crazy'), which means the why is for God, the execution is up to you to do anyway without explanation.

Actually the Jewish tradition and islamic one is polar opposites. For example Jews have a matrilineal heritage; you are only a Jews if you are born to a Jewish mother or convert tot eh religion. Lots of people cover their heads. If anything the Orthodox Jews are more like the Amish (who also cover their heads) who are a Christian Anabaptist sect. We even speak a very similar old German language.

I talking with Rabbi of chabbad him told me when i will be prepared i can go in Uk to convert me. Now i find random this canal, and i want to ask rabbi from beit din, if i come in Manchester, after this long waiting is posibile to convert me? because onesly i live like a jew i keep the Shabbat, i eat koser, i dress modest i have wig because i am divorced from 20 years, but i want to convert in Manchester, my daughter live there, in this way i will be much near of her. They work very very HARD. My husband wakes up at 6:30, He prays at 6:45 and studies Torah. He is at home by 8:30 for breakfast and then leaves to work. He works from 9:00 - 1:00 (then prays the afternoon prayer) and works until 5:30. He then comes home and eats dinner with the children and spends VALUABLE time with them. He prays again at 9:00 (and learns more Torah) He makes an EXCELLENT living BH to support us (I work as well) so that we take NOTHING EVER from the government. He is one of tens of THOUSANDS of Jewish men who do this. He also volunteers and helps prepare dead bodies for Jewish burial. We DO NOT watch tv, so there is a great deal of quality time.

You can read in John 19:31 about that timing. Christ was taken down quickly before the special Sabbath. The Jewish leaders wanted the bodies removed from the Cross immediately so they wanted the three to have their bones broken to hasten their deaths, Christ already died before the two so no bones were broken and that was to fulfill prophesy and the scripture reads " These things happened so that the scripture would be fulfilled: “Not one of his bones will be broken,” foretold in Psalm 34:20 and, as another scripture says, “They will look on the one they have pierced," (which is a future prophesy to be fulfilled for the latter day coming written in Zechariah 12:10). Look up John 19:31 and read the paragraph.

Religion is fascinating. Many have their own books in addition to the Bible (Judaism, Islam, Mormons, etc), and they all believe they are right. Most have their own rituals. What I find in common is the inordinate requirements of women and the preoccupation with sex. Its very strange to me that the Jews are the ones who are vilified. They aren't bothering anyone, and they are family, work, and charity oriented.

Some practices have Intriguing proximity to Islam. Some words to Arabic(sadaka, Mizbah, talasim). I could see through why we start with the right side wearing any clothing on, the “nidah” wash, the slaughter stipulations, eschewing pleasures during the 3-day mourning. and some traditions still current in the Arab and Islamic world. ✡️ ~ I enjoyed the documentary. But it all seems so strange. A lot of this seems pretty pointless. And I actually think it makes more sense how Muslim women cover their hair and not Jewish women. Because a wig could be just as attractive as your natural hair, in fact a wig could be more attractive. And I would like to know if 13 year-old boys are not allowed to touch their own mother, because that’s what it seems like. Hell, I know kids that age don’t like hugs and kisses from their parents anymore because I feel like they’re old enough, Lol, but that still seems very strange and cold.

I should think they can! In Islam we're also not to touch members of the opposite sex, but it's ok with relatives to whom you cannot marry. Same with being covered or on your own in a room with. If they're close family, it's fine. Shame that there's not Jewish people answering the questions. And I agree about the wigs😂 you should see some of the wigs😱 Va va voom! I've seen the young women in New York with huge masses of dark curls all down their back.... skirting around the edges of the rules I should think!

Many Orthodox Jewish women especially Hasidic use head scarves . wig or scarf is up to local custom either way a married woman's hair must be covered in the Orthodox tradition.

No complaints about any Jew in Belgium, orthodox or not. You just won't hear from them even if they have a right to speak up. Very welcoming community. Why do we hate Jews then? Stereotypes? In fact I come to the conclusion Judaism must be the only 'religion in practice.' left.

What's beautiful about these Jewish women who are in the workforce, they cook, and take care of their family with 5011 million kids like its nothing. Whereas the modern women act like it's impossible lol
