I’m a descendent of a 1930’s era Lithuanian Jew. He was a tight lipped man. We never found out about his before life until after his death. So this is more than I knew about his pre Canadian life. Thank you.

What an accurate, honest, balanced history! Only partially mentioned at the end about Vilnius, but for 700 years Lietuva was known as "the Jerusalem of the North" One of many reasons I am proud of my Lithuanian heritage! Samulevich here

Jews of Trakai were not actual Jews, they were Karaite. Real Jews appear in Trakai only in16th century, and Karaite were against them settling in the town as Karaite didn't want competitors.
