Sorry for your personal loss thambi. This review was correct. The movie could have been made better. But it got saved because of Anirudh's music & Rajnikanth's style - I don't want to say anything else. A blind worshipper of the Superstar will watch it more than once, and I confess, I watched it twice just for the two reasons - the actor & the BG. I live in Jamshedpur, I saw full house on both occasions. The cheers & hooting reminded me of my times in Chennai. Thanks for making a honest review.

I think this is the first time I totally differ with your view. Your reviews are always super sensible and I wait for them. I felt Jailer has its flaws but it was a super entertaining film. Made with the sole intention of entertaining. I am sure every film cannot be hard hitting, socially woke. Its an out and out rajini show and meant to be that way. The film had decent writing and detailing within a mainstream, commercial mass film. The mass worked, the comedy/black comedy worked, though it did have a few misses, it was technically good. Seeing Rajinikanth in nelson's template was fresh. A good villain's performance. Its an over all entertainer with some flaws but the mass/engaging moments work really well and they make you forget/ forgive the flaws. Thats how every film operates, no film is perfect. And every film cant be a realistic film. I feel its a rather harsh take on this film.

I really don't understand what is the hype about this movie. If you take Rajinikanth and the graphic violence out, there is nothing in this movie. Total araicha maavu, cut, copy, paste and redesign of loads of past movies. Rajinikanth sir's make up is good. That's it.
