He is managing incoming and out going plane traffic on the ground at Kennedy airport. If you pull open a map of the taxiways, it becomes much clearer. My co-worker and I printed one for the office wall, neither pilots or from NY. The boss was confused. 😄

Valerie: How about the part where she acknowledges an ATC command with "ok", which has been specifically prohibited as an affirmative radio statement since roughly 1997? The correct reply is "affirmative" or "roger", followed by a readback of some kind. She totally fucked that up because she's barely vocal in the English language and easily flustered by non-routine events. Not a good pilot, basically. The only reason she wasn't immediately jacked up for the "ok" was because Steve had already embarrassed her on the official ATC tapes and he didn't want to shame her further over open channels. She started playing the "confused damsel" routine. If she'd been a man, she would have gotten immediately chastised. I understand that you both have a vagina (which is justification for anything in 2018), but white knighting for somebody who's OBJECTIVELY wrong makes you look weak and cowardly.
