In Brazilian Portuguese, "Don't cry over spilled milk" has the same meaning as in English. We have this expression, and we say "Não adianta chorar pelo leite derramado", which translates to "Don't cry over spilled milk." However, we also have the word "vale" (meaning 'worth'), similar to how Obama used it in his joke.

17:40 In my country, Poland, there is exactly the same proverb "don't cry over spilt milk" but it doesn't mean "don't get upset about minor issues", but not to worry about something that HAS ALREADY HAPPENED and it's too late to cry, because nothing can be done now. We also say "the milk has already been spilt, so now it's too late". I thought it meant the same thing in English 😉
