Are there hardened nozzles available for it? Or do you have to replace the extruders?
@gentiligiuliano78823 жыл бұрын
Every review until now revealed extrusion issues. K. Fabrications has made an extensive review focusing a lot on the extruders and revealing inconsistent extrusion due to slipping of the filament. Under extrusion might be a problem that could be fixed by setting the profile while inconsistent extrusion reveals some mechanical issue. Have you tested extrusion repeatability in this printer?

huh those underextruson issues are weird. I have a doot changer and i don't even purge on my tool 0. i plug the nozzle with a bar so it can't ooze and i just pick it up after i'm done. without something plugging the nozzle i have to purge 10mm everytime before picking the tool. i also set the tool change retraction to 2mm in the superslicer and it works just fine for me.

Hey man. I've been watching you for a while now and I think you are a master of your craft. I'm in the process of learning about 3d printing and building them. I've had a cr10 v3 for a few months and I'm installing a dragon fly in it today. I normally print pla at 50mms, slow I know. I'm going to build an enclosure for it and practice printing abs and such. What sort of speed increase should expect with pla. The dragonfly is not the high flow model as I'm selling prints to get money to buy the tools and such necessary to build my first printer. I have a bone stock ender that I'm upgrading with a second z and better mainboard plus a host of other things to learn more about how they work mechanically. Im going to build an ender clone as my first build but plan to build a voron 2.4 eventually. I'm a retired first responder with mental illness but I have a comp Sci degree I never used. I plan to build a maker space where I live in nova scotia as a non-profit endeavor where all the profits go toward teaching others like me and low income people about technology, mainly arduino at first along with guitar lessons I offer for free and refurbish old guitars to give away. Id like to eventually possibly hire another person with mental illness to help me manage the makerspace which with have (hopefully) a couple voron models and some other printers plus cnc and laser engraving along with a paint booth for cosplay related prints. This is a long term plan as I need to build up the equipment I have and also renovate a former cabinet making workshop building on my property. I'm currently selling different prints i designed involving neopixels and other microcontroller enabled features to fund this. I'm rambling sorry. I'm wondering if that is the right path to take in learning about the mechanical side of 3d printers to build up my skills to put a voron together. Also what sort of speed increase you think I can eek out of the cr10 with a titan extruder and all metal hotend when printing pla to fill the few orders I'm starting to get. I have no problem with wiring and software as I have been fixing various electronic devices and such for family and friends for years. I also am a hobbyist electronic engineering buff and do tons of breadboard experiments as a way of learning fundamentals. Cmos and power supply circuit theory are my main focus when I'm not coding or trying to learn all about 3d printing. 3d printing has been rapidly becoming my main focus due to it's cross disciplinary nature and general awesomeness haha Long winded I know but I reach out to experts like you for guidance on topics I need a little help with. I always donate and buy merchandise or something as a way of thanks. Even if this question goes unanswered I still plan to support your great channel.

@@indigosandwiches thanks so much. Before I knew anything at all about 3d printing I ordered a roll of mg chemicals thermochromic abs that was on sale for under half price. Then I got a doa tronxy xy-2 pro then an eryone er20 that tried to destroy itself after the first print. I should've video taped it. All of this took a month to play out and I learned everything I could about printers in the meantime. I had saved up for a prusa but something about the "by Josef Prusa" marketing badged everywhere completely turned me off and ordering one from Eastern Europe to Atlantic Canada had too many unknowns with import tax and such. Plus it would've left me penniless to buy filament haha back to the abs I had ordered, I quickly learned it wasn't even worth trying to print even though they advertise its possible to print on any printer. I believe the metric they use to boast that in their marketing is the simple fact that it will melt and come out of the nozzle haha I agree about the filament. Eryone seem to make decent filament even though their printer may suck. They sent me a roll of the rainbow silk as recompense for the hoops I jumped through troubleshooting the printer. Cheap printers with bl touch should have a backup z limit switch. The er20 insisted on slamming the bltouch module against the heatplate from the right hand side after I leveled it the first time lol. What other brands of pla and such should I be purchasing? I get all mine through Amazon because being a newb I knew they'd take it back no questions asked haha

However as others have pointed out. This machine as shortcommings in regards to the extruder and i will probably do a follow up at some point. Yes. Its an older machine. But sometimes its good to take a look at something thats been out for a bit too see if things have been changed or improved. Plus i dont do many reviews off COTS machines so its experience and practice for me

I got the KS base model and it has one of the worst extrusion issues I’ve ever seen in an extruder. I’m in a discord group where 7 other people have got the base or pro model and ALL of us have replaced the Extruders with Hemera or Matrix extruders. This in combination with the abysmally bad Support (and lack of acknowledgment of design problems) makes it a company and printer to avoid. Stay. Away.
@CanuckCreator3 жыл бұрын
Thanks for the info..when i do a review on a printer ill purposely try to avoid seeijg what others are saying to avoid impacting my opinions of the machine itself. I will say the extruder itself is a weakpoint in the toolhead. The only issues i had on my machine where the underextrusion issues with dual colour prints on small details that i did make note of in the video. Im already thinking about options for awhole toolhead replacements on this (mini afterburners from the vzero maybe)
@Chrissi330043 жыл бұрын
@@CanuckCreator Dont get me wrong, I still appreciate your efforts and I believe your review is honest. I'm just trying to throw in a different perspective on the printer. On my machine it's not possible to print PLA at anything over 35mm/s. And even then the extruder to skip/lose grip. It's a known problem in the community that there are many people with extrusion issues (cant calibrate esteps, filament slipping, skipping and 'gaps' in prints), but it doesn't happen to everyone, which makes diagnosing the problem hard. It could be related to badly machined nozzles, from which is known that they can be too big(!) for the hole to fit in - which means there could be nozzles out there that are way too small and those inhibit heat transfer - making the extruder skip faster (which doesnt explain low filament grip). On the other hand there have been machines on which the extrusion issues could be fixed with 3d printed idlers, or the use of washers on the tension screw, both methods didn't properly work for me. It is a guessing game and luck if you get a functioning machine. JGMaker themselves are pretty sketchy. They promised "silent fans" and "fixing the extrusion issues" during the Kickstarter campaign - both promises were not met. Additionally they posted pictures of prints allegedly printed on the artistD on their social media account. Those pictures where indeed printed on the ArtistD - but on a heavily, community modded one, without permission of the OP - trying to paint the picture that the Artist can print flawlessly without modifications, which is not the case for many users. Im just bringing awareness to those issues.

@JGAURORA3dprinter3 жыл бұрын
@@Chrissi33004 Thank you for sharing such a long essay,which completely demonstrated your problem. For the underextruding of print head, it's mainly caused by filament sensor, and the gear, we do have a new extruding gear, which solved the issue of under extruson. Take time to adjust the printer, show a little patience, it's not easy to get a perfect print, but this doesn't mean it can print nothing, Artist D is a wonderful printer, if you would like to spent time on studying how to make it run properly, take time to prepare, even if you are a professor of 3D printing. Every model we posted is printed by Artist D or Pro, there is no a single unit that is copied from website.

Hard to find anything good to say about this machine. It has issues in several areas judging from your guarded review. So then I found out from your comments not the video, that this is an "older model" and yet STILL littered with problems beginning with but not ending with no auto leveler. I sincerely hope the supplier also supplied you with filament suited to the machine and not have you out of pocket with all the fails you had, the number of which you never mentioned explicitly. Nah, I have enough problems in my life without going out and buying another. The only good thing about this video is you didn't pay for the printer. I would be heartily pissed off if I bought this one and expected decent printing. Rubbish product with zero software from the makers. Support answers here were a joke. "We are testing . . ." Yeah right. No parts available as of now (I read below). No replies from vlogger from some who needed a decent answer was disappointing. You put out videos you answer the comments . . . for a month at least. Anyone thinking of buying a printer and you have read my comment down this far...get yourself a Prusa and ENJOY printing, not stuffing around with half-arsed sloppy builds and zero software.
