Vic Flick, legendary brit session guitarist played on huge number of huge british invasion hits from Herman's Hermits through Petula and Tom Jones. Even taught some tricks to some of the most famous rockstars. My guess he is so humble as to never have sought more fame he deserved and sadly maybe not as wealthly as he could have been for remaining so behind the scenes. But money isn't everything. It helps, but I'd trade tons for having lived that musical life professionally. If one tries to recreate the solo on 6 string it becomes impossible because the highs and lows of the octaves make finding the correct position confusing...and impossible. Once on a 12 string it all falls easily into place. Another British gorgeous yet in the end fairly easy solo that takes major talent and taste to dream up. Let's all recognize Vic Flick. If this were his only work it'd be worth his place in history but for his body of work he should be recognized as a superstar of 60's pop/rock and now "Classical" music. And thank you Julian for sharing.

This is one of the most beautiful guitar lick in the 60s. So thank you for showing us how to do it.

I know this is an old video but still give thanks for your efforts. I have the ASD app to replay the original song at any speed. Some of your parts weren’t exact but were close enough to correct the missing notes. Couldn’t figure out why your demo didn’t match the song until the very end where you play back somebody’s interpretation. It matches that. Thanks for the explanation of bar by bar analysis of each lick. Made it easier to learn since I knew the verse progression.

Yes, some parts are not identical, particularly near the end. However, the essence is there. I don't think Peter and Gordon ever had a band that reproduce the solo when they played live. Thanks for watching.

@@julian65886 i have been in quarantine recovering fro a mild case of covid (first dose done). I wanted to improve your solo. If you would like I can send you a pdf of my whole tab of the song. I would love to get your comments to my tab. Especially the last section. My tab is messed up with the timing because I can’t format Apple Pages to a 4/4 song but the notes are near the right spot as long as you listen to the original song. Thanks again. This really inspired me.

I like to thank you for sharing how to play this solo. I would have never figured it out myself. Hope I can finally learn to make sound closer to the original.

As a matter of interest I saw one of the Peter and Gordon doing a colour video of World Without Love and one of them was playing the solo but I think it was played on a Rickenbacker in the studio recording, it certainly sounds like one to me.
