Guys the dish soap trick actually works. I used lots of toilet paper and it got clogged. Bought a plunger and it didn't work, I thought the plunger was crap (pardon the pun). And then minutes after adding the dish soap in, I pumped it a few times and it freaking got unclogged!!!! Thanks for saving lives!

Yes, definitely works. Tried it all night, letting the soap remain in the toilet then in the morning used some hot water and was clogged free. TY for the simple video and or would recommend to be watched and done!

I started off plunging. That usually does the trick. Not this time. Broke out the auger. Came to a dead end and scraped up the porcelain. Still no luck. I had some Dawn 5x spray under the sink. Poured the entire bottle into the toilet. Must have been around 30 minutes when I heard the GLUG...GLUG. I didn't even have to pout the hot water in. But did anyway. Wish I new this trick years ago. Truly amazing! A huge thanks to you sir! 👍

Had a clogged toilet. Plunged and snaked it repeatedly to no avail. Saw this video and in desperation tried it. It did not work. Tried it again without success. In the meantime found another toilet in the house was not flushing properly which led me to believe the clog was deeper in the drainage system. Feeling defeated and dreading calling a plumber the next day I tried one last time, letting the soap soak overnight. I awoke this morning and much to my amazement and delight both toilets are working just fine!!!! THANK YOU SOOOO MUCH!

Got the crappy water out of the way but still tackling the problem as my nephew who is over 35 filled the toilet with kleenex! This dish soap and hot water method before watching this video. I will start over this method now that someone as yourself explained better how to de declop a toilet. I think he used half a regular box of kleenex@$"^*(%$##!!! Sure hope I won't need a plumber to undo this mess. Why a straight coat hanger which is not flexible to jiggle it's way through the passage that curves.

It took much longer than expected but it worked. My new bathroom got seriously clogged because it's an old house. Yesterday, Spent $94 going to walmart shopping for Drano, baking soda 4Kg and Vinager 8L, also a plunger and even snake drain auger. None of them work. I was going to call my landlord but knowing it may take 1~2 days to arrive, was going to call a plumber but service in my area is $200 minimum. Tried your method with the only Palmolive green dishwasher I have as spare and didn't work the first time. Pour hot water, then put 1/4 of the dishwasher bottle in the toilet, wait 30 minutes, pour hot water. Didn't flush. I used plunger for 1 minute. Nothing happened. Pour hot water again and it fill out toilet because clogged remained. Was going to call plumber and decided to try one more time. Put 1/3 of the bottle this time and left it whole night. Then when I use bathroom in the morning, didn't flush but noticed it sucked in all remains within 1 minute. It must be working. Then pour some hot water and it went thru right away. Tried for the 3rd time, pour hot water, then immediately pour 1/3 of dishwasher, waited 2 hours. then pour hot water again and a nasty smell came up and some waste matter even came back, waited 1 more hour and then it flushed successfully, Tried a few more times in a row just to make sure. I'm saved. Next, put some more dishwasher in the toilet and will repeat steps one more time just in case to make sure this nasty clogged is totally clear. Just Ordered some 4L Palmolive and 4L Dawn bottles from amazon. Thank you so much for your video, it's a lifesaver. To the people thinking it doesn't work, here's an advise for you, be patient and don't give up so easily!.

Vinegar and baking soda are a bad idea, don’t use them please. Yes they react and bubble and foam, but they aren’t really doing anything to a clog. The reaction produces heat and can crack your toilet - not good.

I'm actually sort of amazed that what you recommended worked so well. I didn't have any Dawn detergent but I decided to just try the cheaper stuff I had. I poured about a cup into the commode. Waited the 45 minutes you suggested and then put about a gallon of hot water in on top of the soap. It didn't do anything! I flushed it and it didn't work. I thought I would have to wait until I could make it to the store to get some Dawn and then as I was busy somewhere else, I heard that BEAUTIFUL sound of the commode flushing. I went in and it was totally unblocked! My sincerest thanks for saving me a BUNCH of money on a plumber.

Thank you! Your method worked! Saved us $ getting a plumber in. We live in one of those old apartment blocks with apparently narrow pipes. As precaution : 1) we never buy 3 ply toilet paper anymore 2) stop throwing tissues into the toilet 3) I know it sounds gross but unless I do a poop I throw the toilet paper into a bin instead and clear it daily. Women use a lot of toilet paper and it’s usually paper that clogs the toilet.

Complete newbie here, & it worked just now! The toilet got clogged deep inside because of thick toilet papers. Followed your advice, & also prayed. I am so very grateful I found this video!!! Thank you for your advice. I tried it and, initially, I didn't think it worked. I put a cup and a half of dish liquid in the toilet as you instruct and waited two hours. Then I poured a pale of hot water in the bowl and it still filled up, without flushing. So I waited for the water level to go down, thinking it needed more time to dissolve the clog. I was also hoping I'd hear the flush at some point. Didn't happen. So, once the water level went down again (very slowly) I tried flushing the toilet and it filled again. I got discouraged. I added more dish liquid and waited for the water to go down once again. I waited over night....luckily, I have a guest bathroom I could use in the interim. The next morning, I plunged the toilet and still no flush. So, once again, out of desperation, I poured more dish liquid down the toilet and waited about 1 hour. This was going to be my last try. Then, I filled another pale with hot water and poured it into the toilet bowl.....and frustratingly, the bowl filled again. But this time, my inner voice told me to try plunging while the bowl was full of the hot water....before, I only plunged after the water level went down. And that was the trick!!!!!! I gently plunged a few times, careful not to let the water spill out on the bathroom floor, and after 4 or five plunges, the tank flushed!!! It was amazing!!! I think the water pressure along with the magic of the dish soap is what made the difference for me. I know this is a long post, but I wanted to tell my full experience to encourage others not to give up if this method doesn't work the first time they try it. Thanks again!!!!!

This is a Truck driver’s embarrassment saver. I had the hotel room from hell. I had already complained and then asked for towels to clean my own bathroom tub, floor, and sink. Yes I could have moved but I was on the first floor and my truck was parked right near my window. Worked great! Toilet was so clogged I couldn't even get the plunger to collapse. Poured in a cup of Dawn, waited a couple of hours, then put in a large bowlful of hot water and just like you said, while walking back to my Living room, heard the toilet flush. Ran a couple more bowlfuls of hot soapy water through just for good measure and no more problems. Still do not know what caused the clog. Thank you for sharing this.

Thank you sooo much for this video! Today I am alone at my boyfriend's home and was stressed about clogging his toilet with lots of toilet paper, and this worked like magic! I don't live in the USA so we don't have Dawn in my country. Instead of it, I used Fairly lemon. I poured in the toilet around a cup of the detergent, waited cc 50 min, then poured a lot of hot water (not extremely hot), and flushed it. At first, it seemed like it didn't work at all, the toilet had a high level of water again. I waited a little bit for the water level to be dropped, and flushed the toilet again. After that, it was all perfect again and unclogged. I was jumping for joy! THANK YOU!!!

@@nixodian Not sure if you need to scoop it first. My clog went down some and then stopped up. I used the dawn twice and let it sit for a few hours like the video suggested. It completely cleared it after the second use. No clog again so far either. If you are able to clear some of the clog out that probably will help and the dish liquid may have a better chance getting down in there too. I flushed with hot water from the tap each time as well.

@@nixodian Worked for me, cleared out the blockage first, then added the washing up liquid, (I left it for 20 minutes) then poured hot water (not boiled) from the tap and it worked with total success!!

I can confirm this works! I had a semi-clogged toilet that just wasn't flushing right. I put in the dawn liquid, waited a few hours, added hot water (with more dawn in it) until it flushed itself, then let it sit over night. The next morning, it was back to normal. I was shocked at how effective it was and thrilled that it actually worked. Thanks so much for this video!

Thank you! It works great. After pouring Dawn and the hot water in,it didn't flush so I came to the den sat down and started researching some more. All the sudden I started hearing a noise. Dish soap works because it breaks down fatty oils which 💩 contains a lot of. I used dawn dish soap to clean my kids clothes when they had blow outs, even on white clothes, no stains at all. So I'm giving this a try

@@moniquem783 In my experience, as long as there’s nothing non biodegradable clogging it, you should be good. Dawn works best. One cup for about 1-2 hours.

Worked like a charm!! I was about to call a plumber after using a plunger several times during the day. After viewing your video, I said what the heck I’ll give it a try. After letting the dish soap set for about 40 minutes I added the hot water and hit it a few times with the plunger, added a little more water and then hit the lever. Bingo, the clog was gone. Thanks!!!! A very useful solution.

I have a power assist fluid-master tank and am waiting for the replacement as this model was under recall. This is one of the rare occasion the toilet got plugged up. The plunger was not working, and ran across your 1st video, and then the 2nd video, and decided to use the method and see what happens. I put the soap in and waited for approx 2 hours before putting the hot water in. My wife (unknown to me) had also added more soap plus baking soda and white vinegar. I waited for about 1 to 2 hours, and it was time to flush. (I had the shut off valve off, because the toilet keep trying to re-flush for several days). I turned the water on, and pushed the button. Gurgle, gurgle, gurgle....and whoosh, everything flushed, the clog was GONE!!!!!!!! Not sure if it was your trick, or the one she used, or BOTH in combination (or giving it about 4 hours to disintegrate things). The green water turned clear again.( I just saw a video by a plumber that said baking soda and vinegar is the wrong thing to use). Thank you for your assist. As a side note, I do recommend the Power Assist Toilet because you have rare plug-ups, AND you do away with CONDENSATION in the tank!! Also if you get a power assist toilet get it with the push button on top, (not the handle) as you have less installation problems. Also replace your shut off valve from the old style twist handle to a quarter turn. The quarter turn does not freeze up and turns quickly (no more twisting and twisting and twisting and twisting.....you get the point). For ease of use (especially later on in life) the higher the shut of valve is, the easier it is to get to.

This actually worked, holy cow! Plunging it was doing nothing, and I was already confident it wasn't clogged jets because we don't have hard water. The toilet just wasn't emptying completely no matter how much we plunged it. I just put some dish soap and warm water in the bowl and left it a couple of hours. Now flushes and empties completely!

On vacation. Nephew comes out and says they need better toilets then continues to say it’s clogged. This is at 9:30 at night and after a day at the beach I’m like I’ll deal with it in the morning however in the moment I had forgotten my built in morning alarm turd and realized I was in a pickle. Number one was easily solved but number two posed some challenges. Common sense told me I should have cut it up first before proudly inspecting this masterpiece and flushing it down. I knew I was in deep trouble when the water level started to rise.
