Thanks for this, I just did my stage 2 two weeks ago and my 1st 2 launches were 3.9 and 3.8 with 2 people in the car.

Have you tried launching in manual mode? The car still goes into launch control, but it prevents the transmission from shifting into 2nd, even with the wheels spinning. Only you can shift it, not sure if all years do it, but my 2015 does.

I’ve an Rs5 B8.5, always wanted to try a launch but I’m too terrified of wrecking the transmission, so I’ve had a over a year and still to launch it... sadly might never launch it

I would try it out atleast once! these transmission as shown here are very stout transmissions.

I have the RS4 B8, running jhm downpipes but not the map yet (I will stage 2 tune with JHM when life allows) I've done well over 100 launches plus however many previous owner did. As in the video these transmission boxes won't allow you to launch if they don't feel right. I usually get around 3 runs before it starts to moan about temps and just won't launch. I'm presuming these are running an oil cooler but the costs are so high for UK

I'm surprised these cars can take this many launches, how do you look at how many launches your car has done?

You can use VCDS to view the launch counter on any of the DSG equipped vehicles. On the B8 should be accessed by VCDS 02-Auto -> Advanced Measurements -> #230

Sorta off topic, but are you guys still working on a supercharger kit for the RS5?

Yes we are, the supercharger kit is current in development.

I been bothering JHM for past three years about supercharger kit for it.. its always the same answer ... since 2018 in development.. i think i also got fabrication is in the making or something like that.... Hopefully one day :)

They are as of just recently installing the supercharger on the V8 RS5

How many miles do you think the RS5 engines can handle if well maintained

So far we haven't seen any major issues on the RS5 4.2. We have quite a few customers who are getting closer to the 100K mile mark with no major break downs or issues.

The trans probably gives up before the motor. The Audi 4.2s are pretty stout

I thought Audi limited the launches to a max of 200 to protect the clutch and gearbox? Obviously not?

Our JHM ECU/TCU combo removes the stock launch limiter
