I think that the lack of love that J-Hope from fans after BTS debuted has a lot to do with it. He walked out of BTS twice(?) before the group debuted as well. But they alll realised how much they needed him in the band, not only as a member of the rap line but also their dance leader. He's super tough on them when it comes to performances and BTS really would not be where they are today if it wasn't for him instilling that discipline in the other 6 members. The maknae line is also very comfortable with him, too. But he's such a ray of sunshine - who cannot resist hugging J-Hope to recharge their (human) batteries? He's also proven during his military service just how formidable he is as a leader. As a soloist he reminds me of a 1980s superstar - his onstage charisma is captivating to watch.

I think JK loves hugging Jhope the most is because before they debuted, Jhope almost left the group but JK won't stop crying so Jhope didn't leave and I think JK has got used to hugging Jhope because he don't want him to leave again (or at least try). But to answer your question if Jhope gets mad... you should see him on Dance Leader mode, hehe. he don't really get mad, mad like shout or scold the members but just his look or stare, members get scared, especially if they know they made a mistake with the choreo 😅

This is why you cant really ship the members with each other because they are really affectionate with each other. You will see interactions between each of them in separate occasions. Everyone loves clinging onto Jhope, especially the 3 maknaes. They cant resist not hugging their Hobi hyung.
