Dan Electro made a dying battery simulator at least 20 years ago. It's called a Dan Electrode. I have a NOS one.

Thanks! You're totally right, barely noticeable on extreme settings. On the other hand the Kangra (An already gated and spitty fuzz) got choked immediately by it, even on lower settings.

I made the simpler version of that and it just does that with some pedals. I had a green ringer clone that wouldn't do anything. Like I checked how much power it was getting with a multimeter and it was somewhere around 0.1v and it just sounded normal lol

I wish Rat's pedal could be less expensive, thats the perfect distortion in my opinion, better than digitech's metal zone/boss's heavy metal and others like.

It's a classic for a reason. I love my Rat 🐀 There are many Rat clones out there and they sound pretty close if not identical, pretty sure you can find one for cheap or you can always buy a used one as well.

That's a really good question All my pedals are center negative tho so I don't have a way to test this, also this could end up damaging your pedal so I would consul with JHS first

Yes, I tried it with my Sun Face while I was recording this video but my camera stopped recording and I didn't notice until the next day 😫 It gets velcro-y around 10 o'clock and spittier as you keep turning down and eventually it goes off
