I watched this video a bunch over many months, tried the pedal at a store, bought it last week, gigged with it twice, and..... love it. It is exactly as you illustrate. Transparent, tight, a degree of compression, packed with subtlety, and so natural sounding. My other high dollar overdrives will get some rest now. So far have used the JHS with a '96 Strat, '10 Nash Tele (lake placid blue of course), Fender Deluxe and Quilter Aviator. Sounds great with any combination of above. Works well with Xotic RC Boost feeding it. Thanks for producing the best gear reviews on the Tube. JH

Great playing as usual! And killer Tele! I was told by a drunken bird that the JHS MG can get Marshall BluesBraker pedal type gain...but listening to this review, it is a much lower gain, transparent, and chimey sounding gain...a lot like my Greer Lightspeed actually..I may look somewhere else for my Bluesbraker like tone. Great review!
@alexisvaillancourt58133 жыл бұрын
the bluesbreaker pedal actually rly isnt that gainy. if you look online, you'll notice that there is absolutely no headroom and you have to almost max the volume to reach unity. also i have the mg and with the red mode, it gets gainier than the bluesbreaker. on the other hand, if you want the most accurate bluesbreaker clone, it is peobably the snouse black box. rock on!

I have version 3 of the Morning Glory. Probably the best pedal that I've ever purchased. I got it to basically replace my Electro Harmonix Soul Food overdrive, since I didn't really care too much of the sound when the drive in that pedal was in the middle position. The Morning Glory is more expensive than a lot of the other "transparent overdrives" out there on the market, but it is defiantly worth your extra buck. It is a pretty flexible pedal and no matter what position you set the tone, volume, or drive, it always just sounds great.
@JayLeonardJ8 жыл бұрын
+Beef-Wellington Totally agree. It's has a wonderful way of adding a lot of magic to your tone without taking it over :)
@hankgalt8 жыл бұрын
Seems pretty similar to the wampler Tumnus. Is this intended to be a klone like the soul food is, or is it just similar? Thanks
@theREALChadsexinton8 жыл бұрын
+Joe Sanders No, just similar. They fall under the category of "transparent overdrives." But the Morning Glory is based out of the bluesbreaker (as Jay Leonard mentioned). The Soul Food on the other hand, is based out of the Klon pedal, like the J rockett archer pedal and a Lovepedal kalamazoo.
@hankgalt8 жыл бұрын
+Beef-Wellington thanks, forgot the part about the bluesbreaker, ha. When I saw your part about the soul food it made me start wondering. J Rockett has a new Lenny pedal based off SRV's dumble steel string singer. I wonder if that would be similar to these as well. Would probably sound at least as good while playing Lenny like jay did here, ha

Good Demo -. I likie - run that into Bluesbraker Amp and now I can use my Ibanez Super Tube with 66 BFSR or my angry troll. So many great pedal these days but some stand out and the morning glory is a great one. Not sure how it compares to a BB Exotic.
@JayLeonardJ7 жыл бұрын
The BB is a little more compressed and adds a bit more Marshall character to your tone. The MG is definitely going for a more transparent thing but with the distortion characteristics of an old JTM45.

Great playing! Compared to the thin handle Floyd Rose, whammy bar, is the whammy bar on that bridge a lot more stable when it comes to the bar not swinging loosely or coming loose after sufficient playing? By "loosely" I don't mean in a good way. I mean in the annoying way that it drops straight down so that you have to do a fast reach for the bar every time you want to use it.
@JayLeonardJ5 жыл бұрын
I set my Bigsby arms relatively stiff. There is an adjustment bolt, so it can be as loose as you want though 👍
