I think you just passed up everybody in the demo department. You're playing is not only inspiring, but the excitement you have is contagious. Not only good information, great playing, but a good time. Far better than any living room or finger picker that everyone loves....you're up there with Prymaxe. Keep it up.

+JayLeonardJ awesome! I've never had a real fuzz pedal. I've had the mxr slash model fuzz octave since when I first set up my board, but I've never liked that fuzz. I like JHS's stuff, and I love the bee graphic since I live in bee cave, tx, ha. But yeah, I read germanium fuzzes were the deal back in the Hendrix days, but that they have temp issues. That shouldn't be a problem for me though since I only play at home and the temp is always the same. Looking forward to it! I may get the pollinator and the muffaletta to be able to go between a fuzz face germanium sound and a muff sound. I mainly am looking for that Hendrix fuzz tone.

Here's a question that's been on my mind of late. Have you ever used a compressor pedal in the effects loop? Have you ever considered using it that way?

You can get some great tones that way, but I would recommend finding a really quiet and transparent comp and dialing it in for some nice studio style smoothing 👍

@jonathandenney76848 жыл бұрын
Compared with the SP compressor, which is the best one for all-around use? Preferably which one will function the best with multiple different drives, fuzzes, and modulators? Also, which one will still keep the dynamics of my tone, but still compress it enough to increase sustain and volume of quieter techniques?
@JayLeonardJ8 жыл бұрын
The SP is a great compressor too! There is definitely a lot more squash with the SP. The Pulp N Peel sounds less like a typical Dynacomp style pedal and more like the natural compression of a guitar amp being exaggerated. In a perfect world, buy both and run them at the same time; that is what a lot of our slide heroes do :)
@jonathandenney76848 жыл бұрын
+JayLeonardJ Thanks man! Also, quick question. What is your opinion on reliced guitars? I'm not opposed to it, but I love the look of this telecaster. Is it reliced?

This pulp n peel compressor or Keeley compressor plus? Thoughts.
@JayLeonardJ6 жыл бұрын
I like the Pulp N' Peel almost as a colored Clean boost: great for goosing your amp for some solos or lead lines. The Keeley is just the classic Squishy Ross style comp with an extended fidelity. Both are awesome!
@OgamiItto703 жыл бұрын
What was that, a countrified version of _Life By The Drop?_ Nice review and nice playing. It can be tough to demo compressors on KZbin, since their algorithm already compresses the audio; you managed to get the point across anyway. Way to go, dude.
