Hi again Jay, I don’t really think that you did the demo so badly,no way man!, in fact you made me buy that pedal and I'm delighted with it as far as JHS wanted to remember the sound of the cheap Silvertone (which paradox indeed : )…) The only thing it seems to be checked it’s the Bass pot, from my point of view, from twelve o’clock onwards it’s useless on most of real situations. Thanks for your answer!

Damn, you're fantastic at presenting these pedals... you cover everything, and you play like a monster! You adjust your volume on the guitar for controlling clean/drive, you take advantage of pickup switching during demos, thus finding all the attributes of the pedal based not only on the pedal itself but how manipulating the guitars on board controls can bring out the magic of the pedal... YES, you cover it all, and with fantastic and appropriate playing styles etc! The problem for me is, i want all of these pedals now! I can't decide! I'm about to order this one for sure, but jhs has at least 8 now that I've been considering... and I currently own two from that brand. Joshua is amazing and I enjoy his vids also... what a genius he is! Thanks for making my evenings enjoyable! - Jim B

@StormJH18 жыл бұрын
Wow, man! Pretty much any time I watch one of the "professional" pedal reviewers, I'm in awe of their playing ability, knowledge of theory, and how superior it is to mine. But Jay's demos leave me not only with that same sense of skill, but also the sheer FUN of playing guitar that I actually experience playing the instrument and tinkering with gear, even at a much lower skill level. I was an early adopter on the Twin Twelve v1. It was actually my first JHS pedal. I loved it, but complained up and down the message boards that it was a little too much of an OD/fuzz pedal, as opposed to capturing the full amp-in-a-box experience of a Silvertone 1484. So I just had to slam my palm into my forehead at NAMM this year when they release a v2 with footswitchable clean/dirty modes. I hate to do it, but I might need to trade and eat the cost difference - it's like they made the new version specifically for me. You might have inadvertently answered one of my questions about the footswitch in your video, too...I saw a clip of you using a non-JHS footswitch. Will any traditional instrument cable footswitch (like the single button ones that come with some amps) work with the Twin Twelve, or do you need the proprietary red one from JHS? Great demo, again!
@JayLeonardJ8 жыл бұрын
+StormJH1 Any footswitch should work :) Thank you so much for your really great words. This has been such a fun process and I'm glad people are enjoying all the work. Let me know if you ever go for the v2; I never played the v1, so I would love to know what you feel about the upgrade.
@buckbumble3 жыл бұрын
My Twin Twelve I think might be faulty. On the clean setting, it almost only sounds like a preamp. Even with the drink cranked, it only sounds like it getting slightly dirty. You have to crank it all the way on the Dirt channel to get any slight form of dirty. I am running it through a clean fender which isn’t cranked. Would that make any difference?
@iamkeebz3 жыл бұрын
How is your drive knob working on the clean channel? The clean channel bypasses the drive on mine... so im a bit confused.

Tough question. The Twin Twelve is a fuller sounding overdrive that has that wooly modern rock sound (Black Keys- White Stripes). The Superbolt is a lot zippier on the top and is great for the Zeppelin stuff and more soloistic playing.

Jay, great demo as always. Q. Could I use the Twin Twelve in the clean setting with the drive completely down and use the bass/treble settings to tone down the low end on a particularly bass heavy amp? Kind of like an Eq pedal, trying to decide between the RC Boost V2 (great all round) and the Twin (the drive is killer). Thanks in advance, love your playing...

Great video, as usual. BTW, I got the new version of the angry Charlie after watching your video. It's much more versatile as the AT version, which I also have. Now another question: Do you think, that the Digitech Ventua Vibe is agood alternative to a Drybell Vibe Machine? Thanks.
@JayLeonardJ8 жыл бұрын
+Krimson Le Diable Thanks so much. The Vibe Machine is awesome. Any reason you are thinking of switching?
@krimsonlediable8 жыл бұрын
+JayLeonardJ No I'm not switching, I'm saving up for one atm. But I just wanted to hear your thoughts on the Ventura Vibe. For me there are three that come to mind. Ventura Vibe/ Retro Vibe and the Vibe Machine. Maybe you could do a shoot out. Btw, I got the JHS Modded SD-1 and man, that things very awesome too. Good for both crunch and clean channels of an amp. However, when played in front of a clean amp it's so unforgiving and makes you play harder, which is good for practicing.

JayLeonardJ ...can i ask a advice from you.?should the buffer 1st of your chain or last.???
@mx2itb8 жыл бұрын
Hey there. I just picked up a JHS Twin Twelve V1 pedal recently and am having an issue. The pedal is acting as a HUGE preamp volume boost and unless it the volume knob is cranked on the pedal, I get almost no drive at all. I have swapped out the pedal twice and it is the same issue. even when no other pedals are in the chain. I want to be able to switch from a clean signal to the twin twelve tone, but I can't seem to do that as when I crank the volume on the twin twelve, I lose probably 80% of my volume when switching to clean. I don't know what to do at this point, and would love any ideas you might have! Thanks.
@JayLeonardJ8 жыл бұрын
+Field Cate Hmm... I do notice that the Blue Channel is quite pristine. Really good for adding the Silvertone bloom to your amp. It's the Red channel that offers all the grease. Still, you should have quite a bit of headroom regardless. Where do you run the gain knob?
@BanishFor2Turns8 жыл бұрын
+JayLeonardJ If I don't have the drive at at least 75% the drive is unaudible. I've swapped out the pedal a couple times now and cannot figure out the issue. What power supply do you use for it?
@JayLeonardJ8 жыл бұрын
+Banish ForTwoTurns I use my VL pedal power. I will agree though: all the real saturation is on the Red Channel (which I think the original pedal only featured). The blue just imposes the overall frequency response and touch of a Silvertone into your pre-existing tone. Good luck.
