@CMHobbies2 жыл бұрын
It probably would not sound much less in terms of quality. With Budget pedals, you’re getting a close enough if not identical sound from the pedals they’re cloning, but the compromise for price is the component quality. They are more likely to die on you at an inconvenient time if you use them to gig.

Great episode boys! Yep primarily I’m a guitarist and for so long usually have started most songs when writing or recording with the guitar being the first instrument I start the writing process on, but recently I’ve pushed myself to start a song process either with a keys/synth part sometimes now I’ll start with Drum grooves/patterns and percussion and build from that an see what develops and comes out, it’s been great and I’ve written various new songs in various genres and feel and is great being creative from different angles and using guitar pedals on vocals, drums, synths and creating what you want instead of what a piece of gear is specifically designed to be used with, if something got an Input and an Output then there’s no reason you can’t really put anything into the signal process and just change the normality up and break any rules, there are no rules really so just do as you feel, nothing really is wrong!! It’s just people usually or expect many things to be used in certain or specific ways cos it’s what they’re used to!! F*** all that be creative and do whatever you want, the results can be fantastic and teach yourself so many new things along the way giving you so much more experiences and knowledge using things in different ways! Great show and great idea format! Love it as always!! Thanks Steve in Manchester, England.

I play lots of solo acoustic shows (well, a lot to ME anyway, could always be more) and I use lots of FX and a looper to try and set myself apart from all the other dudes out there doing the solo acoustic thing. The Duellist actually works super well for distortion and overdrive on acoustic.

It’s always great to go outside the box or your comfort zone and try something different. That’s when you write your best stuff. You guys created a gorgeous song and I’d buy an album of this in a heartbeat. Shameless plug: I decided to do something just like this on my last album called Acoustic Spaces. Except, I took one acoustic with many guitar sounds (an Acoustasonic) and used various pedals to create an all acoustic album of mellow folkish soundscapes. Not so shameless plug: every penny that comes from my music goes to my nephews college savings accounts.

I use the Color Box v2 with my Taylor 314 as a preamp. I removed the expression pickup system in the guitar because it died and replaced it with K&K piezo pickups, the Color Box v2 works really well with the piezo pickups. The great thing about the Color Box v2 is that it can serve as a mic pre and as a fuzz box.
