Who is Madison Cunningham?? That is today's question answered. Madison is one of my favorite artists and guitar players. She has a unique sound and playing style. I loved getting to pick her brain about all things music and non-music. In the comments let us know what you think about Juana Molina's Wed 21. Check out Madison's albums below as well!

Michael Himes flats have to be on those, round strings pop out of the bridge saddles (though that looks like a different bridge than the original one on the Jazzmaster and Jaguar).
@michaelthimes
@michaelthimes 4 жыл бұрын
@@joermnyc I disagree. Flats do not have to be on jazzmasters or jaguars and thousands of players enjoy roundwound strings on their offsets - Elvis costello, Thurston Moore, J Mascis, Kevin Shields and Kurt cobain to name a few. Of course the Mastery bridge was invented to overcome the issue you describe which is more likely to happen with aggressive playing and before it, a mustang bridge was the common retrofit. For what it's worth - the bridge in question looks like tune-o-matic style bridge which looks to be stock on that particular model. Maybe it's a roller style - hard to tell.

One of the best shows I have ever seen was when Juana Molina played a small club in Chicago -- touring for Un Dia around 2009. Intricate rhythms, looping pedals, unorthodox percussion instrumentation. I was hooked. Her guitar playing is phenomenal and makes a so perfect ensemble with her voice. In a time of too clean and sweet music, I love the tension, the dynamic of her harmonies and riffs. I think the first Madison Cunningham track I heard was In From Japan... and while listening to that I just fell in love with her music... and somehow I really felt like she'd also like the same music I like... and now seeing her mention artists like Fiona Apple, Jeff Buckley, Radiohead, Paul Simon etc confirms it... and that feels very heartwarming for me. I think her beautiful voice and her love for dissonant chords.. her guitar-driven sound, are the primary reasons why I'm very drawn to her music. it makes so much more sense now... now that I know that she's inspired by artists who have that certain zazazoo... that seemingly unexplainable insight into the harmony that can be found even in contradictions.
