Very aptly named...twilight, they should just retire...my goodness, hk has no other genre, everyday see same actors...and come on louis koo again, see the face also tieed already, how many movies a year...i have not watched any of his movies for the longest time...

Maybe your scope is too narrow. Suggesting that HK films are only gangster movies is like saying Hollywood only does Superhero films. There is so much more! Just look at all the films from Tsui Hark or Stephen Chow. How about some heartfelt films about change and aging, like The Farewell or A Simple Life. Maybe a period piece like Shadow or Full River Red. And one of my favorite films, Long Days Journey Into Night, which has so much depth and meaning. Comedy, romance, drama...there is a ton of non-gangster films coming out of China. But, I do think Twilight looks very interesting. An ode to a place, a time in history, and a genre, full of great actors from that era...what more could a film buff want?

@changeHandler It was meant as a dig to Louis Koo...firstly, I think seeing him in 7 out of 10 movies a year in HK, doesn't do other actors justice or given a chance. His acting is not great and very similar genre hence they should retire in twilight. But then again, yes , most genre of hk films revolve around gangster , corruption , fighting. Its good but it can't be the same all the time. Films like Chungking express, a simple life even unbeatable by Nick Cheung, these are really good films. They can make very good films without action, the White Storm series that has morphed into garbage not sure how many storms are there. The most recent that I have seen was A guilty Conscience, which was reasonably good. And there were no fighting etc. This walled city unfortunately is just trying to milk ticket sales by throwing some famous names Hollywood make 9 out 10 rubbish movies. And there is a difference for shows coming out of China, for Chinese, there is a huge difference for shows from HK and China, the genre and acting is way different to cater to local preference

@@editionlvl You watched too few HK movies then. You should at least check out the nominated films in this year's Hong Kong Film Award. "Time Still Turns The Pages" is a must watch imo.
