$45 is a bit steep in my opinion. If you look around on AliExpress they are around $25 give or take and they usually ship and arrive in under two weeks. Amazon will take the same time for shipping and charge twice as much, I don't think they have two day shipping for them yet and yeah I don't blame you, let him beat one of these up and get some practice in before graduating to your Mini-Z's haha

Great video i have all 4 i did give them rear suspension where the screw goes that stub i put a spring over that and screwed it down but kept it just a little loose it works on all of em not the best but it’s better than nothing

Nice, that's not a bad idea. Def better than nothing but ultimately you are just giving the body suspension. The rear wheels are still stationary with the chassis so I was thinking about chopping the chassis in two and making something similar to a T-mount suspension kinda like you see on Mini-Z MR03/04 racing chassis. I know it's gonna be a pain in the *ss so we will see how it goes lol

@@evanwillard2811 I figured you did, just stating the obvious lol but yea the T-mount is one method I had in mind and some kind of shock mount is also on the table. I want to make each wheel have it's own suspension but I'm pretty sure they are both connected to a single rod to the motor so that's probably not gonna happen. I'll figure something out when I rip it apart hopefully. After I'm done with my LDRC NSX I'll start working on that.

i've got the bmw one but i've ordered some other normal 1:43 scale cars so not radio controlled but I was really wondering if I might change the body and keep the electronics or at least just the motor

You can definitely keep the motor but the mainboard may interfere with body depending on the shape of the car. If its more box shaped you could possibly keep the electronics but if its like a Lambo, Ferrari, McLaren, etc. then you will have to switch out the electronics to something smaller/lower profile.

I'm talking about the Dacia models (1410 sport, 1310 model from 1985 and a 1300 break) if you might check them for curiosity. do you by any chance, show on your channel how to put that nice little kit you showed in a car ? this seems like something I might absolutely get my hands on in the future

How you did to the rubber tires does not get stuck on body of the car? mine all the 4 wheels get stucked, specially the rear ones

I don't know, I haven't had that issue yet. So you are saying the rubber tires are getting stuck to the car body or plastic wheels, I'm not sure which you mean? Are you running them really hard and they are melting to the wheel or do you mean they are hitting the body?

what about the rear differential? do they have one? open or locked?

No the rear wheels are connected by a solid straight metal rod. Only the front has a little plastic differential so I may take that from the front and design it to fit in the back and make it RWD. And it's locked.

​@@AirToGroundRCFPV well, but since it's in front and the car is made for drifting i assume it's a one way diff... isn't it? If itwas totally locked a solid metal rod would have been enough, and if it's not locked it wouldn't make sense unless it's one way... agree? :)

@@middleclassproject Yea I agree but it's not. It's a short tiny metal rod with a plastic gear and plastic cups attached to the ends. It's way too small to be a one way since that would be very hard to make at that size without being expensive and they didn't even make an open design either. So it has a locked front and back diff which is obviously not ideal for drifting and why the car doesn't drift as good as it could. **It seems that the old version cars have all plastic front locked and the new gyro one has a little rod with plastic locked so I may have to take them all apart to see if that's true since I've only opened up 2 of them.**

It's hard to tell, they have the same motors and parts it seems but slightly different bodies it might come down to weight distribution or something like that. The Porshe just has those bigger wheels and body for some reason, don't know why they chose to do that but I'll keep testing more and will have a disassembly video and other vids on them coming down the road.

It's not a big enough difference for me to say the Porsche is better than the others. The other three drift really well with the smaller tires honestly. I feel that the Porsche may be better than the others when it comes to racing though so I guess it depends on what you use them for.

Same here, I'll start taking one apart and see what I can do in the name of science lol An aftermarket receiver and esc with the gyro will completely change the way it drives I bet especially with RWD.

Between 20 to 40min depending on how hard you drive it and if you have a gyro or not installed.

If you put a new receiver on it you need to add a new esc as well and just remove the stock electronics since it won't be needed anymore and there is no easy way if any to add a receiver to the stock board, it all has to be switched out to after market parts. I'm going to do that to one of them in the near future.

@@steviefpv I was in the same boat my friend. I've been building fpv quads for over a decade from 6s 6in builds down to tinywhoops and these RC cars are much more simplistic in some ways with one motor, one esc but also are kinda foreign mechanically compared to drones. It took me awhile to get the hang of them after I got my first one and it was much easier to get a youtube channel going on mini RC cars since there are not as many channels out there on this stuff compared to building/flying quadcopters. I don't know when I will do that video so it may be a few weeks since I'm doing multiple projects at the same time right now so hang in there.

@@AirToGroundRCFPV yeah same mate but only 4 years drone building I gave up on the whoops and toothpick builds way to fiddle so only 5inch quads now lol. My rc experience goes as far as my mt10 I swapped out the oem electric and put a max 10 esc and motor combo in and put a better servo in that was easy all plug and play. I’ll hang tight mate my one from China will be about 2 weeks anyways I got the new version coming with built in gyro already 👍🏻

Great comparison. Would you disable the gyro if you're going to race instead of drift? Or maybe just lower the gain?

Thanks man, I would actually keep it on and lower the gain since it keeps the car stable on straightaways so it's useful for both driving styles. The only problem is that the battery has to work harder so your driving time gets cut in half.

Yes, I added the DasMikro V5 Gyro to the Porsche myself. It was very easy just plug and play but the connectors are not the same size so you have to force them a bit but they will fit. I will do a short how to video of it later. No, I haven't checked anything yet but I'm planning on doing a disassembly video of one of them soon so I will check everything under the electronics then.

Yeah it sucks, you can get the new gyro version for just under 40 bucks usd on AliExpress. Just click on the link in the description of my videos but that's about as cheap as you can get one at the moment, if you go to Amazon or eBay they will be even more expensive unfortunately.

I bought mine when they were less than 25, I'm not thrilled they increased the prices either as I mention in some of my videos. They have a new version out with a built in gyro you can get for 40 right now which the original doesn't have so that one is the better option I think but may increase in price as we get closer to Christmas unfortunately.

If you have the drift tires on, just pull them off the wheel and then wrap the rubber tires over the wheel and just make sure they are on even all the way around and that's really all there is to it.
