Several important points were elided in this documentary. 1. Deng Xioping was purged from the Chinese Communist Party a total of THREE TIMES, not once as stated here. He was denounced as a “Capiralist Roader” during the “Great Leap Forward.” After Mao died in 1976, Jaing Qing tried to make it a fourth time. She failed. Each time Deng was purged, he was protected by Zhou Enlai. Other great Chinese leaders who did not have a benevolent protector like Zhou (e.g. Liu Shaoqi and Peng Dehuai ) who tried to move China in the right direction were humiliated, purged and killed. 2. In between Mao and Deng, China had a leader named Hua Guofeng, who was Mao’s designated successor. Hua was basically undistinguished, except for one very important thing: When Mao died, he did not want the radical left (led by Jaing Qing) to take over. He mobilized reform minded Chinese Marshals who rescued Deng from rustication and put away Jaing Qing and the “Gang of Four.” If Hua had not done this and Jaing had taken power after Mao died, things would have turned out differently. 3. Nixon’s visit to China in 1972 was a real big deal in China as well as the US. This was Mao’s decision and it involved significant political risk. There was a large and powerful contingent of Chinese leftists, of which Jaing was one, who did not want normalization of relations with the United States. Mao had to kill his designated successor, Lin Biao (who wrote the “Little Red Book”), in order to receive Nixon and begin the normalization process. Again, the outcome was hardly foreordained. If Nixon had not gone to China in 1972, China would likely not have opened up for another 20-30 years because of the strong opposition to rapprochement with the West within the left wing of the CCP. 4. Xi Jinping, the current paramount leader of China, and his father, Xi Zhongxun, were both purged by Mao. After Mao died, Deng worked to rehabilitate Xi Zhongxun (along with posthumous rehabilitation of Liu Shaoqi and Peng Dehuai ). Again, this easily could have gone the other way.

In the last interview Mao said to Edgard Snow many further Cultural Revolutions were required to guide China, a still poor Country; and capitalistic one in the superstructures (he said "there are still eight differences in salaries") to Communism. When Jaing Quing was arrested, the PCC was left only with half of his Politburo. One of the neuralgic upturning point of the CR period was the "Lin Biao Affair", for many reasons. The most strategic, at Mao's death, was that with the leftist chosen successor (The Comrade's in Arm) and Marshal gone; and millions of the youngster heroes of the GPCR sent to work in the countryside; JQ Queen of the Arts and Zhang Chunqiao popular among the young revolutionary intellectuals lethally failed to have a mass force to contrast the long planned Putch from the different areas who were eager "to overturn the CR verdicts". Mobo Gao concludes in his book that Deng was more a patriot than a Socialist . While Mao said during the liberation fight: if first we don't liberate China we will not even have a base upon which build Communism

Mao was surprised of the havoc created by the rapid escape of his heir, comrade in arm , and editor and prefacer of The Little Red Book. At the end of the day, thinking of the huge political crack to be faced, he came out with a typical sentence of his:" You cannot stop the rain " .

"Pile foodstuff. Dig Shelters". was one of the latest Mao's recommendation to his people. When he opened to the West starting from the " Friendship among people"; the"Ping-pong politics" Mao was fearful from a USSR, by now the main imperialism, sudden attack to the many thousand kms common board . This act implied two outcomes . One immediate: the Popular China admission in the UN system, with the Republic of China exclusion . And in the long term the beginning of the general crisis for the Country of the Soviets.

it takes the in China and westerner mainstream vulgate without deepening or giving a new investigation at all. As an example China was a Confucian country with a very conformist culture against the " Half of the sky" as Mao called the woman, and sustained her emancipation . Against the current, was not Jiang but Mao who vowed the new enter Jiang. Mao who was a vigorous man with normal sexual desires even under the condition of the civil war, was very respectful of woman and female comrades. This the report of Mobo Gao in his valuable and serious work:" In defense of China past. Mao and the Cultural Revolution", Ed Pluto London. Which Mobo ridiculize the figure and the words of Li Zhisui, the self-proclaimed Mao's special physician. Who was the media successful main strategist of a Chairman womanizer . Low quality.

While communism had its successes in China, it is also essential to acknowledge the criticisms and drawbacks associated with the system. The ideological nature of communism led to periods of turmoil and suffering, such as the Cultural Revolution and other political campaigns. Additionally, the rigid control exerted by the Communist Party has been a point of contention for those seeking more political freedoms.

My guess is that it is aimed at the most ignorant sectors of the European & Anglophone KZbin audience, who prefer lurid judgemental pulp statements to humane historical analysis... a disgrace to France.
