Let me ilustre you why I am in favor. In summary being no evolution or progress means death and boredom for a game. Long answer, even if I like new characters if there is no reason to pull them, the players have no goal to archive so playing outside Lore reasons is gone. If every year or so my characters starts falling behind then I have 2 options reach for a new team and have fun with new mechanic or git gud and give them godlike relics and beating content in this last way feels incredible or pull their E2 and they become online so o either work hard for it, or use jades(I don't like to E2 characters I need to say) How I know this? Because I came from genshin and that happens there. It's a little annoying? Yes but more the part of people btch**Ng about having the best unit/ trashing over it and having to choose again a new playstyle ,but the second one even if is a little uncomfortable, it's healthy, change is. This is the healthy answer, as you said there are a lot of people that don't like power creep bit when a new character is released they want it to be powerful out of this world and also I don't understand their point , I want some increase on power but because they want A HUGE one then they are the ones causing the unhealthy power creep to happen so I think they are just retar****ded idk what to tell you, the only thing I want from a 5 star\4 star is being fun and functional without feeling clonky.

Honestly, I’m just disappointed that he isn’t a healer in any way. Really felt like he could have inflicted enemies with a debuff that healed allies when they took damage, something like the Nihility blessing. Which could have led for some unhinged sustainless comps with Acheron or DoT. Instead he just feels like a replacement for FireMc in Acheron comps, since SuperBreak is the meta comp now for mc.

It'll be cool, but not really functional, if they want to make him a nihility healer they have to make his healing ass so he won't overshadow sustains, in the end you'll just run a sustain either way. And I think lore wise him being nihility fits more too, he convinces people that he's a healer yet in the same time he uses his knowledge against his enemies

I only pull male characters if I like their character design + personality + animations and for meta reasons. Right now, I only like his animations.😶 But I will pull him for Acheron at this point.💯

My only irks about him and lingsha is they should swap their kit 😭😭😭 the story so far always mentioned jiaoque as military healer, and the story with lingsha so far she can immobilize enemy with her aromatherapy... would make more sense lol. But regardless, must skip him for now, since I need to save for my wife, Tingyun. 😞😞😞

I find him to be ok, and I’ve maintained this opinion ever since we first saw visions of him. His DPS increase to ally’s is decent, his ult vulnerability is fine, and his sub-dps is ok. He works very well with Acheron, and decently with other ult based DPS units like Argenti and Yunli. Beyond that he’s fine. Pela 1.5 for all other DPS units, which isn’t really a bad thing, but when units like Robin, Ruan Mei, and even Sparkle exist, its a struggle to justify him as a pull beyond just Acheron.

She’s easy, braindead, and strong for what she does while effecting a majority of the DPS in the game. IMO, she’s way above JQ in pull value. She works for a wider range of units to a stronger degree and can abuse stupid stuff like DDD or Coggers.

Lmao, imagine pulling for Lingsha when Gallagher exists. Jiaoqui is a must for every Acheron player, E2s included. It's a huge team boost that doesn't even show in calcs cause they do not take the 1 more ultimate he gives you in consideration. Want Feixiao? Fine, but rest assured Feixiao is just luxury pull and will be powercrept relatively fast. Imo it already isn't the best HUNT because Boothill exists. You have to pull Feixiao E0S1 and Robin S1 (or have the event LC) and Aventurine. If you already got Firefly and Acheron, the best advice is to pull for Jiaoqiu E0S1 and to fuck off with your jades until 2.6. Feixiao is a luxury pull, nothing new and nothing broken. New Planet is gonna bring new Remembrance Path and new Team Compositions, start saving for that and Fate Collab.

The two before me have already said their pieces about Lingsha and Feixiao, so I’m just gonna add that Sparkle is overrated as hell. She’s really only BIS for DHIL and Argenti, Robin and Ruan Mei are just as good or even better for the rest of the DPS roster. Easily the worst limited harmony and incredibly skippable.

Honestly it's not that much of a challange, depends on you. Sparkle - she's bis mostly in older hypercarries teamcomps so we have to wait for new dps like that. The popular teams use Robin/Ruan Mei Feixiao - Ratio is still very good and was given for free + he's f2p friendly with tingyun and pela being available for him unlike Feixiao who needs Robin and Topaz. There is also Boothil who can be used in same content as her and be potentially stronger (example - Hoolay) Lingsha - at the moment she does not look like 5* when Gallagher exists. Only if you have E1 FF

He's good now but his kit definitely feels like a slight mess. He was supposed to have very slight healing(like Jade's HP drain) and if you notice, his ultimate changes the entire battlefield and there's a white colour on our side. This was meant to give allies a buff of some sort. But they removed all of that.

i dont understand this, what does him being a healer in lore have to do with his kit? i dont think gallagher who is a abundance character is a healer in lore right? he is just a barkeeper (well obv. only for appearance sake but even so in lore he has nothing to do with healing) so why is he a healer and not something else? Sorry I know you were asking them but definitely. His DOTS are “slightly” weaker (although he has way higher stats, just lower multipliers) But in terms of debuffing he has immediate 100% uptime whilst Guinaifen has to let the stacks build on enemy turns, plus if a new enemy enters she has to restart and reapply it again. There debuff values are pretty similar (34% dmg vuln from guinaifen vs 35% from Jiaoqiu) but guinaifen almost never has all the stacks up, plus Jiaoqiu gives an extra 15% for ult dmg, which is way better for Acheron. He also batteries Acheron better than every character in the game and is more SP positive

Good video as always. Looking forward to the future ones! I am Acheronless but still very much pulling for Jiaoqui, through a combination of his design and enjoying actual Debuff, not just DoT DPS, as an archetype. What I am looking forward to is trying him out on Superbreak teams, and I wish I saw more creators tampering with this. I get that it's not optimal, what with enemies needing to attack to get stacks from his ult and Break delaying attacks as often as possible, but I think there's something there given his vulnerability Debuff, decent toughness reduction with his fast ult, and the lantern set giving him more speed. In the same vein, I think he'd also pair well with Misha, who has a huge ult to be buffed, can do some superbreak shenanigans, and likes SP to be spent. My biggest worry about him is that he seems to want to use his Skill a lot. More stacks, more ult charge, etc. But he's competing with Pela, one of the most SP positive units in the game. I think this actually makes them pretty different, but I can't think of a way to actually leverage it, besides making sure he fights alongside other really SP positive characters like Luocha, Sparkle, Hanya, etc.

Unreasonable doomposters aside, I can see why he wasn't that well received. JQ mains are likely not overlap with Acheron or Kafka mains. Without those 2, he got nerf every single versions and significantly has less pull-values mete wise. Husbandos already are few and far between , and JQ is just made to support for a very specific waifu dps that actually doesn't to be more broken. So I can see why people are frustrated.

I don't have Acheron, and he doesn't seem like much of an upgrade for DoT teams. Unfortunately, I don't think he will pair well with rest of the traditional DPS teams (still waiting for dedicated support for Jing Liu) in which Robin, Ruan Mei, Sparkle will be BiS. You are right, he is one of the normal characters released in a while, though this patch is turning out to be more like "let's upgrade standard characters we already know in different characters" patch.

He's rly good with Ratio if you use him, E0S0 JQ is about as good as E1S1 Topaz. Ofc assuming you alr have Robin bcs Robin > (Let's be real tho, she's the best pull for everybody so this ain't surprising) As for JL, he might be able to compete with RM? JL has not gotten any real updates on her supports that isn't just Robin (bcs Robin is broken for any crit dps) and her having to use RM for hypercarry is not rly optimal bcs she's a duo dps buffer so we'll have to wait and see. DoT teams, he's basically on par with what we alr have so meh. His biggest boost imo is actually enabling Robin. Robin has not had great synergy with most other harmonies/buffers besides Bronya (hyper-optimized for maximum DPS turns) bcs 1. they don't proc her attacks often enough, 2. They oversaturate on buffs, and 3. Robin gives a massive amount of stats that gets unused by the other harmony. JQ by being a debuffer avoids the oversaturation and buffs Robin's damage by a significant margin, while also being a good enough at proccing her ult hits bcs all his skills attack the enemy. JQ can also somewhat actually take advantage of her buffs (not that it makes him do insane damage, but going from Sparkle/RM doing basically no personal damage to Jiaoqiu doing at least like 20-40K with each of his hits can definitely make a difference).

He's the RM of Nihility debuffing. His job is to be consistent. Like RM, he will not be really the best option in teams except in one team specifically made for him. Like RM being only the best in break teams and he is her equivalent in Acheron teams. However, unlike RM, his first run is where he has legit competition (I.e. You are choosing Feixiao or Jiaoqiu), so he's not exactly 1 for 1 with RM.

Imo the problem could be how amazing his base kit was that it was actually kinda broken. It placed way too high expectations that ofc wouldn’t be met… I mean like, look at him now even after being nerfed constantly, he’s still broken af. Now imagine the base kit (except keeping vulnerability), he’d be indescribable broken. Which is obvious why he recieved so many nerfs, but again, the expectations were way too high that you could really only be disappointed, at first, every time he recieved a nerf. Because not everyone that likes his design has or wants to pull Acheron to get real value out of him. And in pretty much every other team, there's a better alternative to him (Robin or Ruan Mei) that is also much more generalist than him. Further, quite a bit of his vulnerability value is baked into his light cone. Without it, his value over his 4 star counterparts in non-Acheron teams really isn't worth the pulls, primarily offering quality of life improvements from the auto-debuff implant.

Imo, the main problem with him is just that he is straight up boring. Many think that his design is just premium NPC(though I quite like it, cause it's not overloaded as hell and doesn't have common hsr male fanservice.), his kit is boring (he is literally 5* Gui and even then he doesn't have anything unique to stand out), his lore is... alright? it's the most inoffensive lore that could be given to a character, but at least rn it's unexplored = he is boring. and that's all while his kit and animations don't really make any sense with the lore that he has been given (a healer that can't heal even at e6, yay, I love me some ludonarrative dissonance). Also, in "early dreams" he wasn't another DoT clown and atm it seems like releasing Nihility char without DoT is some kind of blasphemy (Acheron is an exception to that rule).

He's her best support, but that's the problem imo, most Acheron players are "Waifu" enjoyers, and most JQ fans are "Husbando" players, they just wanted him to be better with more teams including other male-dps teams.

Kafka and Black Swan are good but Acheron hypercarry is doing quite a bit better than them especially with Jiaoqiu and pure DOT teams are not good in Apocalyptic Shadow. Kafka and Black Swan are coming sometime after Jiaoqiu so you will have to choose the team you most want to play as I reckon. You can actually play Jiaoqiu + Kafka and clear content but you won't have the blast DOT of Black Swan.

Theoretically but in terms of multi-wave content, it’s waay more comfortable. He also stacks when the enemy moves which is something neither Pela(no debuffs without ult/skill) or Guinaifen(DoT doesnt count as debuff) so theoretically he doubles her stacks. In which case, even at E0, you can replace the second nihility unit with a Harmony and actually perform better than two nihility units that dont include Jiaoqiu.

I am Acheronless, but I am still pulling for him. My acc really lack of dot units and it quite annoying in PF, AS, or MoC. Have been farming for his relics and already reach 100 ehr and still trying to get spd boot with ehr. With his LC and traces, I think I'll able to reach 180 ehr with easy. Just hope I can win my 50/50, so I can get his LC with guarantee. If not, well I am stuck with 160ish ehr. Can he work well with Acheron and Welt? I am kinda curious.

I think people are rightfully upset, seeing how most limited 5*s consolidate multiple roles in their kit nowadays, while he isn't even that much different from a 4* that came out over a year ago - Guinaifen. Both are Vulnerability applicators with Burn DoT, his only difference is speed of application, ease of use and better survivability coz of 5* stats and that's it. He doesn't even have a way of detonating his own DoT, when Gui can do it with her Ultimate. I also think it's fair to want at least something more creative than a reskin of an old pre-existing kit, especially when it's the first male support + first male foxian. His design currently makes absolutely 0 sense, when his Ultimate animation is a 2-sided hotpot that deploys a field with a spicy side for enemies and a mild side for allies. In his old kit, the mild side for allies would heal/buff, but now that part was completely removed and the animation stayed the same, so it just looks stupid.

I would have the same exact criticisms if they released a character that's just a copy-paste of X, but better, with better stats and faster/bigger output, that's just lazy and uncreative. It's obvious that they didn't put much effort into designing his kit, because even the animations don't match the actual ability effects, like I mentioned in my original comment. And it's not like they can't come up with interesting kits even when it falls into the same niche as a previously released character. For example, both Moze and Topaz provide similar buffs and fit into similar FuA-focused teams, but their kits are distinguished and original enough to not be considered a lazy copy-paste, even if you don't take power levels into account.

According to Guoba, E0S1 JQ in Acheron team deals 30% more damage than Pela team, a 4 star unit. That's like 200 WISHES just to get you more 30% more damage which is embarassing if you compare him to a 4 star, and also a small QoL that only works in Acheron team lmao. You're better off using those 200 wishes to pull Kafka and BS then put them in E0 Acheron team atp then you got yourself 2 actual good teams. Kinda wack tbh so i understand where the doompost is coming from.

Why people don't understand the difference between hate what Hoyo did with his kit and what he is a character. People absolutely love Jiaoqiu. But, Hoyoverse treated him poorly, as they do usually woth male characters. I wanted to use him outside of Acheron cause i couldn't care less about her. But no. He is only her battery. Amd outside of her team, he doesn't outperform other characters. I'm pulling for him anyway, but he is a 5* with 4* performance. People say he is good with Ratio. Now...they put fkg Robin on the team...so the condition to make him works a support it's put another support. So no. It's Hoyoverse the target of doompost, not Jiaoqiu. I'm pulling for him regardless, cause i really love him. But what they did with his kit was evil.

They dont apply debuff fast enough. The math has been done. Showcase has been done. Jiaojiu is as strong as e1s1 topaz in ratio team, e0 acheron e0 jiaoqiu is as strong as e2 acheron e0 sparkle combo. Using jiaoqiu with e0 acheron even allow u to bring a harmony like robin. U can easily find the showcase on cornflake channel

Both the frequency and what the actual debuff is way better than what Gui and Asta have to offer. Jiaoqiu gives Acheron so many stacks it's not even funny. His ult, skill, ultimate, all apply debuffs and he gives Acheron a stack every time the enemies take action. Vulnerability is also very good. While Guinaifen also has it, she gives less and it takes way longer to stack. About 2 cycles to get the full benefit. And Jiaoqiu's debuffs lasts between waves, making him better for multiwave content as well.

I think the pessimism originates from the utterly mediocre character design. Blud doesn't deserve a whole banner to himself, he's the very definition of a filler character. There's literally npcs in Penacony with a more unique design than this guy. They probably could have just folded Ashen Roast into Lingsha's kit and made her a hybrid Nihility.

Just forget about a GOOD support character, the 5☆ Limited versions of the supports are always braindead directly better perfomance than 4☆ and nothing more, there's also kills even with the Limited (Robin killing Sparkle by a similar kit but with the reverse idea being overall 50% better. First of all, Sparkle is more oriented to hypercarry sp hungry teams while Robin shines on FuA, so they just cover different roles. Then, you have people clearing MoC12 with Natasha/Lynx as only sustain, so even if 5* are overall better, by any means u force to get them to be able to claim same rewards as someone who have. And finally, people is still using Tingyun since 1.0, Bronya still better than Sparkle on some comps, and even Hanya/Asta can be used, not to talk about Ruan Mej ofc, so who is exactly "killed"?

@@SadicSmile So in resume: - Robin is similar in oppose idea of the kit comparing to Sparkle. - But Robin is better than Sparkle in even Sparkle primary BiS team of DHILL (but you can't play without Sparkle). - Aside from DHILL Robin do better perfomance in place of Sparkle and normally make others harmony and nihility more viable than Sparkle like Bronya/Tingyun and i'm seeing potential in JQ increasing her damage to 1.0 ~ 1.6 Main DPS level. The most common case is Jingyuan getting buffed by Sparkle, then Robin steal the her place and make Tingyun a better combo. - And also, Robin is AoE but do the same/better perfomance in single target 😃.

The reason why Sparkle feels "off" compared to Robin/Rm is because meta shifted from hypercarry comps to FuA/Break and those 2 are monsters there, + new dps units been focused on those archetypes. But even if eventually the Sparkle 2.0 arrive that wouldn't make Sparkle 1.0 bad as she is able to clear all content. Like to make an example if we both friends and start to play at same time, and after 1 year ur team is FF+HMC+RM+Gallhager all 5* E2 S1 and mine is FF+HMC+Asta+Gallhager e0 4* lc, you will probably do a 0 cycle auto while maybe I have to do 2 try to do a 5 cycle, but that's all. You don't have hard enough content to debate if Robin is going to kill "X" were Asta and Hanya can clear MoC 12, at this point is just overkill, is like people claiming Jingliu is bad now were I can 4 cycles with her + Pela + Bronya + Lynx. And I have almost all units so I know she can't do same numbers as my Archeron, but both of them give me exactly same numbers of stars/rewards, so do I need she doing those numbers? Perhaps when we on 6.0 characters from 1.0 can't be used, but till then just have fun and pull the ch most appeal to you, since all of them are good enough for what game actually demand.
