Hi, I would like to ask you because I can't see exactly how the side awning is mounted to the side of the roof? Are the adapters drilled through the side of the roof? Do you have any photos of the installation?
@jidrobbinsАй бұрын
They are mounted to the side of the top shell, below the where the vinyl soft side is mounted, so if there were any leaks where it's mounted it would not leak inside the camper - if that makes sense. I have a couple of pictures, but can't attach them here.

Thanks for the tour. Since you have had it for a few months now, how happy are you? @jessejames seems to have had a few issues with his. Have you had any issues with yours. I will be looking to replace my heavy 25 year old hard side in the future and the 850 is in the running. I have a long bed 2500 HD, so weight should be about perfect.

I'm very happy with it! It's a quality, comfortable camper, and I have not had any issues with it. I now have it on a 2500HD with 6'10" bed, and it's working out great. You may have to get one without the rear wrap to work with your long bed truck. There is a Northstar Facebook group that has lots of good info: facebook.com/groups/262493560390

Thanks again, not a Facebook guy. You now have to be a “member”. Your setup probably feels a lot better on the 2500HD. Not knowing what you had before.

Keep this unit. First time I've seen a wahhot water heater and a mystery switch that may or may not turn on a time warp somewhere

We live in Arizona and I NEED to know if that A/C is actually good enough for desert camping?
@jidrobbins4 жыл бұрын
I can't really tell you much about the A/C, I'm in Western NY and have only turned it on once. It's not a big space, so I would imagine it will cool the camper just fine. You will need a generator or 110v power hook-up to use it. There is a Northstar Facebook group, and I'm sure someone can give you the info you're looking for: facebook.com/groups/262493560390

How much did it drop your mileage? These low profile types should not be as bad as a full on camper.

I lose around 2 mpg with the camper on

Good luck with that. I bought a brand new 2014 Northstar Arrow-U in 2014 from Truck Camper Warehouse in Chichester, NH. The camper was a p.o.s., as are all Northstars. The dealer as well as the manufacturer were not helpful at all once my check/loan cleared. Check your fuse/circuit panel to be sure everything is correct (orientation and location of breakers), careful on your entry handle that it doesn't rip out of the wall, the Laguna table will pull away from its mount, the cable coaxial should be checked, where the electric jacks mount are weak points, the support legs of the awning have a plastic cam lock and are brittle. Sorry to burst your bubble. Good luck. You seem as happy and excited as I was. I sold it back to T.C.W. for a huge financial loss in 2017. Paid $31,000 in 2014, the guy only gave me $10,000 in 2017. He still has it for sale three years later in Chichester, NH for $26,500 (as of 4/2020)

Thanks! I finally figured it out when it was dark out. During the day you can't see the lights lol

@@jidrobbins Excellent, I see you are from NY, I am from the Hudson Valley (Fishkill originally) and now in Florida. I have a 950SC, the headroom in the 850 is fantastic. But we do love our NS. For other reasons I had a custom trailer made for it....check it out. Video under Lambo.

I don't understand why truck campers are still so outdated. NuCamp is one of the only mainstream truck camper manufacturers that is building modern looking and well equipped campers, with lithium batteries, Truma heating systems, etc. These things are too expensive to be so far behind in aesthetics and technology.
@JohnWeik Жыл бұрын
Lithium batteries are not all they're cracked up to be and can actually have issues and even catch on fire and don't work as well in the cold. Said you had some issues but overall I find these campers seem to have the least reported complaints compared to most! Just saying.
@dlg5485 Жыл бұрын
@@JohnWeik The only issue with litium batteries is that they need to be kept within certain temperature parameters when in operation, and that's not a big deal. Otherwise, they are FAR superior to lead acid/AGM batteries in every single way. They last longer, allow deeper discharge, provide higher power density, and on and on. It's no comparison!
