Don, how do you maintain the required level of cleanliness at the jig grinder with that table saw running in there?
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
The table saw is probably 30' away and has a vacuum system of it's own to keep the area clean.

Good video. Could you guys do a video on the different types of grinding wheels for surface and bench grinders? Like the different grits, hardness and the numbering system they use. Can't find any good videos on that subject. Thanks.

Don; Holy cow! Hey, can you tell me about the machine a bit? You just never cease to amaze me. On a side note, I am thinking you don't get wild when tightening the bolts.... I will venture.... 20 foot pounds? Possibly less. Hey, my thanks. Mark
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
We didn't measure with a torque wrench but my guess is 1 or 2 pounds.

Yikes! Well, then just enough to register the part, and not enough to distort it.
@bcbloc028 жыл бұрын
Do they make machines for line grinding? Sure seems like it would be a huge time saver if you could do both holes in one setup.
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
No but it would save time.

Great video, Don. Could you give us some provenance on the Moore grinder? It looks like new. Is it a new acquisition for Suburban Tool? Has it been reconditioned? If so, was it by the same company we saw who reconditions your surface grinders? Is this the first Moore #2 jig grinder for Suburban tools? How do you use it, how do you plan to use it, and how does it fit in with the the mix of machines at Suburban? Please comment on whatever of those questions you feel is appropriate to this audience. Thanks.
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
We've had it in the shop for some time we use it regularly then we moth balled it. Later we reconditioned it to the extent we could and now it is back in operation thank you.

Interesting video Don. Why don't you use pin Gage's to measure your hole bore?
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
Why have hundreds of pin gages when it can simply be accomplished by using a telescoping gage and a micrometer. But, thank you for your comment.

Really liking the jig grinding series, although I'll probably never use one it's nice to see one running. Do you think you could show how to grind chrome someday?
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
We plan on doing a video at some point.

You are producing many pieces, do you use a template to fix the work piece at the machine table?
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
No we don't use the template for the 1st one, but then the 1st one becomes our template.

Why do you have a table on top of the machine's table?
@SuburbanToolInc8 жыл бұрын
A smaller table makes it easier to work with smaller parts. Also if the table wears its much easier to correct than the main table on the machine.

Old guys rule and Stress the fact from a bench grinder, to your shop to Reska that a grinding wheel/stone is a "consumable" and should be treated as such. Don't wimp out on replacing them.More info on grades/type/uses/speeds/feeds/care of, would be helpful. Old guys with skills,rule
