What a peaceful and successful solo trip! Awesome job, Capt Halk!! I hope that Skinner guy was taking notes!! Hahahaha. Skinner, if you read this, I humbly request a lock of your hair from your next barber visit! Hahahahaha Tight lines!
@jiggingjerks3 жыл бұрын
Hahaha...why made the trip more peaceful, spiritual actually in a way, is another moment sadly not caught on film. I had just arrived at the weakfish spot and in the distance I see a majestic creature walking towards me on the water. I look closer, and I see a beard, glasses, white new balance sneakers and I realize it’s Skinner! I call out his name and suddenly, a puff of smoke appears where the deity once stood and he was gone. Of course, that may also have been a channel marker I saw, but I like the first story better...

@jiggingjerks3 жыл бұрын
Thank you Craig! The stars actually aligns that morning in that I had perfect tide and wind conditions. That thing is something called a Toadfish drink holder. It secures to hard surfaces and acts as an extra cup holder. I have three cupholders directly behind my seat but for whatever reason every time I leave coffee in them, they wind up spilling and causing a mess. This thing really rocks!

Can I ask why you tied your 3 way swivel the way you did? It looked like the weight was on the middle and the bucktail on the bottom. I would have thought the weight would go on the bottom, bucktail on the middle. Or is this a different version of a fishfinder type rig?
@jiggingjerks3 жыл бұрын
This is the way I was taught to tie it 20 years ago. Small surgeons loop for the weight with about a 6 foot leader just above for the bucktail. The spots we use this rig in are usually honking from a drift speed perspective, sometimes 6 mph....

Nice John, why didn't you do a charter that weekend? Kinda good to be booked through November, you gonna do togs after that or put it away for a few months?
@jiggingjerks3 жыл бұрын
The Tournament I fished the day before uses Sunday as the rain date so I intentionally kept both dates free. Same for next year. Tog is early October through the end of November for me. Water starts getting too cold after that by us.
