+ECAbrams you could use the duik plugin for making "bones" out of those puppet pins instead of writing the expressions

@ECAbrams7 жыл бұрын
+Marianna Rossi you can. You would just need each blob to be a unique composition. Does that make sense?

Man, I love the way you approach the structure of animations. It's like a really good tutorial on system design, but it's on graphic design. Do you have any programming background?
@ECAbrams7 жыл бұрын
I actually have a business background before I came to the world of design. The only programming I really get into is the adobe action script... and Lego mindstorms!
@eugeneyakshin31997 жыл бұрын
I guess then you have a natural aptitude to this. Btw, can you recommend a good surface-level read on general AE concepts, object types/interactions and effects? Or is it already so complex a tool that there's none such thing as "general"? In almost every video you show something new, so the set of methods and approaches is growing and I'm trying to systematize it.

Thanks for this video!! This is also the way many animators controls like body parts or the eyes of a character? Making controls with just null objects? TY

+Reizo it's certainly one way. We will talk about character rigging in another tutorial though. Typically we use ik plugins for advanced character things like duik. But that's a subject for another day.

duuuuuuuddee this :D omg but ow well would never have gotten good with the speed graph if it wasn't for this
@eugeneyakshin31997 жыл бұрын
it's very simple if you read it through. in fact, all the cool stuff is in the second line from the end. basically a decaying sine.
@rubiconfilmssydney70067 жыл бұрын
Great tutorial, as always. Thanks. I applied the inertia decay expression to a random shape just to try and understand it better. I found it worked as expected, but then when I applied any kind of ease to the keyframes, it stopped working. I tried applying the ease/custom curves to the keyframes first and then copying the expression but no dice. Any thoughts why this is so?
@ECAbrams7 жыл бұрын
The inertia bounce relies on the velocity of a property. If the final keyframe of the property has been eased, the ending velocity is 0px/s. So basically it has slowed to a stop and so there is no need to bounce at all. It's like a car making a perfectly smooth stop. If it jams on the breaks with a linear keyframe it'll bounce all over. But if it rolls in smooth to 0, like an eased keyframe, it won't be bouncing anywhere by design.

Of course...d'oh! Thanks

@ECAbrams7 жыл бұрын

Just wanted to chime in here and say that, as a resident of the mecca of jello salad (utah), that's most definitely not candy, that's shredded carrots. I hope to know that makes your jello experience significantly worse, because I know it does mine.
