Totally support Jill and Derick. I was a faithful viewer of the Counting On programs. Since Jill is the only one who can speak publicly the whole truth due to the other siblings signing NDA's, its very important that she is able to do this. Stand up and speak truth. Dilliard family, you are on the right path. And we know you love your family still.

Jill and her husband are the epitome of grace. Her parents surely did some things really right by raising such an intelligent, articulate daughter. However their failure to protect her is astounding and her father’s failure to get what he’s done to her is ignorance at its finest. Jill and Derick open the doors to Christ for others in the most humbling and honorable of ways. Jill, as a fellow survivor, please know the strength and grace you possess in telling your story is a beautiful gift to this world. May God bless you and your family.

Great interview. Thank you. I appreciate Jill sharing her journey. And giving grace to herself thru the conflicts, etc. I left a cult within a cult within Catholicism and the journey is similar in some aspects so I draw comfort & strength & courage from her growth, healing and articulation. 🤗 Thank you!

The book is very well written. I am about 80 pages into it. I will continue to read and learn lessons from it. It has touched my life and help confirm and affirm some of the decisions I had to make in my adult life and my parents did not approve. I am 65 and have just finished up counseling and therapy recently on the trauma inflicted upon me. I too was a people pleaser. Thank you so much Jill and Derick. Keep standing for truth. ❤

What a great couple! I realize that this is largely Jill’s story but Derrick has been an incredible and supportive husband. I have not read the book but will try to get a copy. Thank you for sharing your journey.

Omg. So annoying and distracting from the awesome interview. Sound quality with the interviewer is dull and muffled. I hope she reads these comments and corrects the situation.

For a first interview on such difficult topics. This is you being so intimate and honest in a way that will help so many people. Jill while you may need strength to do this I hope you enjoy the next set of gifts that are not just going to be about accepting accolades. It's going to be stronger boundaries and seeing the growth of other families members. Years ago I read about a woman in the UK who was an Indian who fled from her abusive family she became a cultural expert on that kind of abuse and talked about the likelihood of the abuse continuing because they escaped woman or child would be returned to the same situation. In a few short years her own siblings were fleeing from their own marriages and kids of those marriages going to her as an aunt. In one of her follow up interviews she also talked about attending her daughter's wedding where he daughter made the choice of spouse was the greatest payoff and her daughter had her own education and sense of independence without the need for marriage.

One question that I have is for Derek. Did Derek see any red flags during his time visiting with Jim Bob? He had a relationship with Jim Bob before he had a relationship with Jill, so did he see any red flags during that time?

I read the book Boundaries also. It is a very, very good book. I threw at the wall several times. And that is because it was telling me the truth. I read it along with my Bible.

What we haven’t heard much about is Derick’s background. How did they meet? How did he get JB’s approval to marry Jill?

Derrick reached out to JB and asked if he can join in his prayer group. After a while JB asked him to talk to Jill thinking they'd have alot in common. So he's the one who basically set them up.

I’m so thankful for Jill’s sake that Jim Bob set them up-Derick wasn’t the pursuer , or even Jill. Neither of them can be blamed for that at least.

1 John 2:27 NKJV - “But the anointing which you have received from Him abides in you, and you do not need that anyone teach you; but as the same anointing teaches you concerning all things, and is true, and is not a lie, and just as it has taught you, you will abide in Him.“ It’s so important that we read the Bible for ourselves and have a quiet time by ourselves with the Lord. It’s so important that we know him, and we get our validation from Jesus Christ and not the world and not our parents and not our friends and not our spouse! That we know him, and he knows us, and that comes by being alone with him every day! Jesus still heals he heals our heart. He heals our soul he leads us he guides us he’s real! Being a Christian means believing what the Bible says so you better know what it says!

I am sorry but this interview was spoiled by the constant blip of the interviewer’s computer notifications! Also, the distraction of her magnifying glasses! As for the book, I think it was very honest, and well written. It satisfies the curiosity of a public use to knowing about every aspect of the Duggar’s lives. That public did want to know what had caused the estrangement in the family, between the parents, and their best most obedient, hard-working daughter. It answers the question as to why the parents supported the pedophiliac son, and instead punished one of his victims: money and fame. But, should the public know those things? What does it help for these facts to become public? Is the point reconciliation or vindication? If a person is Born again, a brand new creature in Jesus Christ; dead to this world, and alive anew with Jesus Christ; why do they “need” to be vindicated? Is exposure and vindication now taking the place of the Holy Spirit to “correct” another person? How does what others do wrong to us; how do their flaws and mistakes or even cruelties change what Jesus Christ did right for us? Does vindication an exposure actually heal broken hearts, and a broken soul? Is this what Jesus would do if he were you? Well, he’s supposed to be living in you and giving you a new life where insults don’t touch you because they didn’t touch him.

I found blip’s (they were only in the beginning) annoying too but complaining about her glasses being to thick and distracting comes across as a ablest. She needs her glasses to read and if that’s distracting to others then that’s a personal problem for them to resolve within themselves.

The stupid little "ding dong" prompt sound that goes off every 30 seconds is *SUPER* annoying and distracting! So much so, in fact, I stopped watching long before the end. It's very amateurish and likely due to tech ignorance .
