The craziest thing is that originally Ace's character was supposed to be complete idiot. Something close to Ben Stiller's Simple Jack from Tropic Tunder. @@oldchannelforayoungstupidf2649 The part where she wipes up the blood on the railing, allegedly to investigate, while not wearing gloves(crime scene faux pas #1) or calling over a photographer(#2) or showing any real concern over it(dead giveaway) is also very telling. Especially when such blatant evidence of foul play is just dismissed out-of-hand when Ace presents his theory. At the very least, it would require additional investigation.
@elijahdixon76813 жыл бұрын
@@jackdaone6469 At first I wondered why that was one of the telling clues, but then I realized that "she" deliberately contaminated the blood in order to make it virtually unusable. Plus, another clue aside from the ones listed out is the way "she" becomes increasingly nervous hearing "her" true name resurface from the one "she" tried so hard to keep out of the investigation (suddenly stops being cold and has to fight against being paralyzed out of fear). Then there was that fruit placement that _literally _*_pointed_*_ right at her._ Even "her" voice was a dead giveaway something was off about "her", it was a few octaves too low to be naturally contralto, like it was practiced to be feminine.

One thing I appreciate about this scene, beyond Jim Carrey’s genius, are the facial expressions from Einhorn and Aguado after his explanation; Einhorn realizing her mistake and Aguado practically saying “damn that’s a good point” with his expression.

That's actually a really good point. I wonder if that was a purposeful detail, or just an oversight during the making of the film. Given that she's law enforcement, and also the real murderer, if she is seen mishandling the crime scene like that, she could chalk it up to a mistake or whatever. She could tell her superiors that she was just not in her right head because she was so pissed off about Ace. Chalk it up to a rare mistake, and they would probably forgive her for it with a slap on the wrist. It would be a genius move. But then again, it could just be something that none of the production people thought about in the moment.
@SSJ2Phenom2 жыл бұрын
Honestly, I think that was just an oversight by the film makers or writers. The reason why is because there were 2 other detectives standing right there and they heard what Ace said and also looked. Why didn't they call for proper protocol? Also, the only reason we know about such procedures is because of all of the CSI, Law and Order, detective shows, and movies that have come out basically teaching Criminal Forensics 101 to everyone who watches. That knowledge wasn't common to knowledge to everyone who watched tv back then compared to everyone that watches now. 🤷🏽♂️

The low-key best part about this scene is that Ace knows exactly what happened to Podacter the second he walks in the room. On the way in, he hears the neighbor say she heard a scream, then when he walks in, he sees the closed glass door and knows it's soundproof. He knew right then and there that Podacter couldn't have been screaming with the door shut unless he was still in the room, and deduces that it had to be murder. He had that truth bomb moment ready and waiting throughout this entire scene.

There were SO many tales in this scene that indicated that Einhorn was the killer. The dog barking, her not calling CSI to investigate the blood, her face when Ace demonstrated the DPSPG door, when she jestered to the officers (3:23) to kick him out before he finished the explanation, and of course the "get him out of here!". Given the size difference between Roger and Einhorn, I don't think she murdered him and then threw him over the balcony. Plus, it would be very obvious that he had defensive wounds and attack wounds upon examination of his body. So yeah, the screen was probably from Roger when Einhorn attacked him, and he had either hit his head on the railing, or maybe he did already have some kind of minor wound from her attacking him before he went over the railing.
