Aidan Hannah as a medical professional who has struggled with both depression and anxiety.... things are not always as they appear (actually they rarely are). Most people think I’m the epitome of happy and only a few know how I struggle. I’d be considered social, extrovert, joking...but it’s a survival skill I learned a long time ago. Some of the happiest appearing people truly are struggling. Don’t fall for the facade. Same with many of my patients. I’ve seen behind the mask.

Broxine, the federal government investigated and found that in January 2018, the civilian warning officer believed that the threat was real. If we didn’t have cell phone alerts, the civil defense sirens would have gone off instead. My house is next to a recreational park where lots of families cheer on their children on Saturdays. The roads became like a scene out of the movies with vehicles speeding and folks ignoring traffic laws. Most of us at home just accepted that it was going to happen. You call your loved ones and wait for the flash. Then nothing happened.

The whole experience was TERRIFYING! It happened on Saturday, January 13, 2018 at 8:07 a.m. Imagine everyone’s cell phone alarms 🚨🔊BLARING (which sounded like an Emergency Broadcast or AMBER Alert alarm) plus this message in ALL CAPS: “EMERGENCY ALERT BALLISTIC MISSILE THREAT INBOUND TO HAWAII. SEEK IMMEDIATE SHELTER. THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” Initially, I thought maybe it was either fake or some kind of SPAM text. But when I discovered that ALL my family and friends received it too, then I was more concerned. We texted family members who live on different islands to say we loved them. Then we went down into our basement - which is made of cement bricks - got on our hands and knees, and prayed. 🙏 Crazy feeling to think you have only a few minutes to live. Lots of thoughts rush through your mind. In the meantime, we also turned on the TV to see if there was any news about it, but there wasn’t anything. So that’s when we started thinking it could be an error/false alarm. My friend - whose husband is a police officer - verified fairly quickly that it was indeed a false alarm. The really disappointing and unfortunate part about this whole thing was that it took the state 38 whole minutes to send out another notification to let everyone know it was a false alarm. So for many people, they were in UTTER FEAR and TERROR for 38 minutes!!! • The protocols at Hawaii’s emergency management system were, quite frankly, embarrassing. There was no system of checks and balances in the process - It took just 1 person’s misinterpretation/mishearing (human error), and that 1 individual had the ability to send out that crazy ⚠️ warning message to the entire state! • On top of that, this certain individual was already “on watch” because this was not the first time he “confused” drills with real world situations. There were at least 2 other incidents in the past when he made mistakes during drills and thought they were real (hurricanes and fires.) • The wording of their drills was written very poorly. It said over the intercom: “Exercise, exercise, exercise... This is NOT a drill... Exercise, exercise, exercise.” So I could see how someone could get confused if they did not hear everything clearly. • In order for the HIEMA to be able to send a second correction message, they had to jump through many hoops to fix their mistake. So basically there were minimal protocols and it’s SUPER EASY to send out a false missile alert... but then it’s SUPER DIFFICULT and there are tons of protocols to follow in order to try to correct a mistake. • Our Governor also said he couldn’t Tweet to let the public know that it was an error because he “forgot” his Twitter password. We also heard from friends and on the news that it was more chaotic outdoors. People were literally putting their young children INTO MANHOLES to seek protection underground in storm drains. People were also driving like maniacs on the road. Chaos and utter fear spread like in those apocalyptic movies. What happened was so unfortunate, but in a way, it was a good wake up call for everyone: 1) We obviously need to fix a lot of protocols at HIEMA (Hawaii’s Emergency Management Agency.) 2) People - myself included - need to wake up and be more prepared in advance in case real emergencies occur in the future. Do you and your family have an emergency plan? (hurricane, fire, flooding, nuclear warfare, etc.) Do you have enough emergency supplies to help you increase your chances of survival? (food, water, batteries/solar powered energy sources, shelter, transportation if needed, first aide kit, medicine, etc.) 3) We should truly be grateful for each day we have to live. Never take anything for granted. Live each day to the fullest. Always treat others with kindness and let all your family and friends know how much you really love them.

I don’t think I’ve appreciated Jim Carrey enough, but now that he’s retired it’s nice going back to his films and realizing just how important he was and is to my childhood. Him and others like Keanu Reeves, or Robin Williams. Are all one in a billion people and we’ll never see others like him or others of his grandeur of not only acting, comedy, but also just general kindness as human beings. Thanks for the memories and the good times!

I rewatched Jumanji on Christmas and I felt like a child again. Robin Williams has a lot of Scorpio placements in his birth chart. He was burdened with things he could only express through emotions via his acting and comedy, rest in peace. as for Keanu he had a lot of cancer in his chart. The water element is the most common thread between the two. also I was living on Oahu at the time this missle crisis happened, I was asleep and woke up to the alerts in my phone. so thankful to still be here.

In life, there are ordinary people, extraordinary people and then, there is Jim Carrey. No one else is just like him and, for that, I am grateful because it makes him so much easier and enjoyable to appreciate. It's not that he's more important than the rest of us...he's just particularly, singularly unique.

The whole experience was TERRIFYING for many people! THIS IS NOT A DRILL.” Initially, I thought maybe it was either fake or some kind of SPAM text sent just to my phone. But when I discovered that ALL my family and other friends received it too, then I was more concerned. We texted/called family members who live on different islands to say we loved them. Then we went down into our basement - which is the only place in our house made of cement bricks - got on our hands and knees, and prayed. 🙏 Crazy feeling to think you have only a few minutes to live. @AA-ep1ri4 жыл бұрын
@Aerochalklate - Exactly! Especially when that 1 person was already known to have made many critical errors in the past too. That’s why there should always be some kind of checks and balances in any system. I mean I do feel bad for the guy. He didn’t do it on purpose. But when you’re dealing with that kind of important position where the public is relying on you to be accurate, you have to step up your game. They said when he realized he had made an error, he completely froze up and didn’t know what to do to fix the situation. Other people had to take over for him and do his job in order to send out the second alert that it was just a false alarm. Poor guy though was receiving death threats and everything. Had lots of upset Hawaiians and Samoans going after him.
