Just listen to the companies they mentiond being stupidly overvalued: Apple, Amazon, Netflix, Salesforce, alrdy probably thinking about Tesla. That's almost the perfect portfolio from 2013 through 2019. It's ok to be wrong, but come on. They literally go down the list of the greatest growth stories of the next 7 years. This is all in heinseight, 20/20 etc etc..but I held netflix, apple, amazon and tesla on and off since 2013.

It's like that now. At Apple's current annual income rate, it would take you 30 years to even see a return, and that's being generous. The entire market is like this now. It's about to crash hard, I'm 99.9% on this.

Peter Thiel had a great talk about financial managers, we've known for a long time the only sure trend in the market is up eventually. Once the numbers are crunched financial managers perform worse than randomized investments, all these investment gurus who caught a wave are lucky more than anything; human pattern recognition simply isn't enough to be truly informed. If Chanos' Tesla short worked he'd be a genius but the opposite is the case and its the same for everyone who makes it big; there's not much behind it so don't take their investment advice as expert opinion.

Well, the stock price is what matters if you, like Chanos probably, have been shorting it since it was around $200 a share. It's currently almost exactly at $300. Besides, I think it's risky to short Tesla. Elon has shown that people buy into his vision - and I wouldn't be surprised if some of his very wealthy friends saved Tesla from bankruptcy if it ran a couple billion short. The amount of money floating around among the super-rich is easily under-estimated...

he says having your own R&D (like samsung do) is fine his problem is with firms which 'purchase' their R&D through acquisitions. he says that strategy makes accounts seem healther than they really are, since it's possible to effectively hide your R&D costs in this way

ok thanks! Although you always pay for R&D, just noon form of acquisition and not of R&D on your balance...

He was actually long Apple if you watched the video till the end. He said "value stock" means that you are no longer innovating, but Apple was still innovating. "It trades like a value stock, but I don't think Apple is a value stock." That said, I think his Tesla call is a bad call. And he is probably out of it by now.

Apple has cannibalized itself. The vision has been lost, the innovation is not there and they have become ridden the wave of smart phones long enough for people to realize that other market entrants have already caught up and even done better than what they have to offer. I think you all will see as Apple takes the lead in this recession. The cash flow is not going to be there because they've been idle with turning R&D into fulfilled needs. Apple would be smart by veering away from hardware and infrastructure and routing its efforts in software. We're still very far behind in what room we have left to invent applications, and there's not been a problem so much with the need for hardware to track alongside it. Apple needs to be aligning with AI, augmented reality or commercial adjuncts....maybe work closely with the driverless cars agenda.

Yes and the reason is called naked short selling and stock manipulation. Retail has been smart enough to see through their bullshit, hence why Tesla and GameStop have been a retail success and why short sellers failed

Apple's market cap tells you it is a poor investment. What you think it is going to triple? Coca Cola has a better chance of becoming a trillion dollar company than Apple does. Ipads are awful because no memory expansion card slot.
