We don't have to compare Cornelison with Nabors, for both sing the song, BHAI, so well.Also we don't have to compare Indy 500 with Kentucky Derby, for both have great traditional anthems.

Cornelison does a great job, partly because he sings with the Purdue Band, so that keeps him on the tune so we can sing along. He uses a slightly different version of the lyrics than Jim Nabors did, but I’ll get used to that soon enough. I give Clarkson a 4 for the Anthem, and God Bless America was just awful. They get these “recording artists” who are more concerned about performing to show off their pipes than they are in leading a community patriotic moment. And the country singers are the worst. Speedway needs to make it clear. You sing with the band, on a marching band arrangement, in a way that encourages a couple of hundred thousand people to sing with you. If you don’t like that, no one is there to see you anyway.
@blin48235 жыл бұрын
You couldn’t be more wrong about GBA. Easily one of the best performance in many many many races. Love my Florence RIP. but her pipes left her long ago. If you have trouble singing along with that young lady, whoever she was, then sthu; actually that’s good bc it was a lump in the throat performance, she nailed it; and the 300k’s response afterward made obvious that she should be given the torch to carry on with the storied tradition from here on out. Not a IMO but fact.
@nascarfan88ta5 жыл бұрын
Cornelison sings the original lyrics. Jim Nabors was known to replace shining bright with burning bright
@projoebiochem5 жыл бұрын
B Lin 300k would cheer for the end of any song. Not only did she butcher the melody, her voice quality was terrible. At least KC has a good voice, she just doesn’t get the purpose of doing the song in that venue.

"Shining bright" is actually the correct way to sing the song. "Burning bright" was something that only the Nabors version of the song used.
