Russo is the type of guy who has ember of a great idea, but gets so overwhelmed by its potential in the immediate term that he doesn't think it through properly. Lots of run-ins and weapons. It may have been fun to see the hot shotting for its time, but 1998-1999 was a terrible time to see any technical wrestling on WWF TV. Today people’s views on Kurt Angle have changed, but when he showed up at the end of 1999 they chanted “boring” at him for doing moves.
@xsoultillerx

@@kaijusoshingeki7214 everyone likes to put ringwork/technical wrestling on a pedestal now but the problem is that it's arguably why things are so boring now. almost everyone is just playing their CaWs from the smackdown games now. there's no personality, no character, no reason to give a reaction now. a majority of top wrestlers today would've never made it past the midcard in the 80s or 90s.

@@coreyhall1150I wrote that comment with my other account and I'm one Hulk Hogan brother. You might know me as Terry, or TB. (I don't mean tuberculosis. I'm the TB you want to get !) Anyway brother I'm sure you know I was nearly the bass player for both Metallica AND the Rolling Stones, I taught Michael Jackson how to dance, and, I run a very successful chain of beachfront stores where others sell my merchandise brother ! Brother, I've spent 60 years in the business. 65 years. You can round that up to 70 brother ! I've been the world's heavyweight champion in seventeen promotions for a total of 75 years brother! Many years I worked 370 to 380 days (you can round that up to 400 days) per year brother! Because I travelled to Japan where I'd lose a day it was possible for me to defy the time warp continuum brother ! So if I want to call someone a mark, or anything else I damned well please, brother, you know I'll do it ! I don't need permission from you ! WHOOOOOOO ! (And before you say it, yeah brother, it was ME, the Hulkster, who invented that catchphrase. I gave it to Ric as a gift. If you talk like that to me again brother, me and the Hulkamaniacs and all the little Warriors (another catchphrase I came up with) will be doing that big leg drop on YOU, brother !

Don't forget. you're talking about a man who tried to run someone down with his car over wrestling. There were other factors, but wrestling is what started it. He also threatened to shoot that same person before that. If he is capable of attempted murder, he is capable of this level of hatred.

Cornette is infamous for his temper problem (see: Dairy Queen vid) and wrestling is his life. When someone who doesn't give a shit about wrestling (which is Cornette's entire life) is put in a position of power and completely screws it all up, I can totally believe Cornette wanting to shove Russo's head in a deep fryer.

I think Corny is wrong about Chyna facing a woman. She wasn't really booked against women until after he left, and the only card that somewhat matches his description is the 5-10-99 RAW against Ken Shamrock where she went to a No Contest with Ken. That card had 3 other no contest matches on it.

I don't mean he was influenced I mean he flat out RIPPED THAT SHIT OFF...... Idc how much success you have if you're a thief you're a thief. Look at Carlos Mencia. A comedian that was stealing everyone's shit and putting a Mexican twist on it AND HE WASNT EVEN MEXICAN. But Joe Rogan called his ass out and NOW his whole career has been de-railed and he can't get any work..... That is kinda sorta what happened with Russo. He ain't successful. If he was successful he would still be with WWE but even with him stealing ideas Vince McMahon was his filter and without McMahon Russo SUCKED. Only reason he got work in TNA is because Jarret and him were BUTT BUDDIES that's why.

@@pmfg11 Was you even around during the MNW? WWE was getting 3.8 million. It was 10 million ALTOGETHER. WCW up until 1998 was get 4.9 m and WWF was getting 3.5 or something like that at their highest ratings they got like 6 million. It was never 10 million. In an alternate timeline Goldberg goes into Vince Russos video store, kicks him in the head preventing him for going to the WWF, Cornette saves WCW, no pandemics, meets a guy named Brian and does a podcast and yesterday went to the grocery store where the cashier put the canned goods on top of the bread, he asked the cashier his name before tearing him up verbally. Even in an alternate timeline Jim Cornette would still hate Vince Russo.
