I like when The Undertaker did dives. For his size. And he didn't do it all the time.

And even at the end of his career, people lost their shit when Undertaker would do the dive. Meanwhile, the Young Bucks dive all the time and nobody gives a shit when they do it anymore.

Foley even mentioned in his first book that Undertaker one dive a year meant more than luchadors always tumbling every match.

I remember the first time Randy Savage wrestled for WWF. He jumped off the top rope and double axe handled the guy on the floor. I was just a little kid, but that popped me big time. We never saw that. EVER.
@jamesvigg2680

The psychology of Macho doing the double axe handle off the top was always perfect. He so rarely hit it (especially working heel) but you knew if he did the other guy was going down.

This happened around the time Ospreay and Ricochet were doing their stupid synchronized tumbling routine in Japan in the undercard. The only thing that’s changed is that Ospreay apparently learned his lesson and dialed back on the flippy shit after he destroyed his own neck botching that Spanish Fly onto the ring apron. Which is a minor victory in and of itself.

If anything, it's even worse now. Not only does everyone do 8-10 dives a match, but now they do them wrong because they're always landing on their feet. I miss when spots like that were treated as moves only to be used on very special occasions. Same thing with the million false finishes. Those should be left to the highest of high profile matches at the biggest show of the year.

The Flying Dingbat...Cornette running around yelling "dingbat" is priceless enough on it's own. The only thing that made that even funnier was Brian Last talking about Edith Bunker and then the extended conversation after. I'm sitting here laughing hysterically, glad that right now, no one else is here to hear me...

I think that there's truth in it. What's going to happen when people build a tolerance to the flippy shit and then the wrestlers now have to figure out a way to do MORE to get a reaction? Also, some of the reactions by fans has been pretty funny. They can throw criticisms at stuff all day long but when their favorite style gets some in return? "What do they know, why did they want to take the fun out, these guys are ancient"

Seems like anymore wrestling is a bunch of acrobatics, highspotting, pointless gimmick matches, no-selling, kicking out of finishers, and false finishes. No storytelling or psychology anymore

Exactly. And ya say anything bad about it or any type of criticism and ya have a dozen chubby 14 year olds and 40 year old creeps yelling at ya that you aren't a real fan and go watch WWE. Lol. It's ridiculous. I've been a fan my whole life and I've never seen sillier more intense fans than today

Ever notice that dives to someone outside the ring are done in a way that never happens inside the ring? Inside the ring when jumping off the ropes you have to hit them with a clothesline or crossbody but outside the ring you just launch yourself at them and push them or instead flip over and knock them down.

Hilarious, Randy Orton actually thinks any wrestling fan on the planet gave a flying fuck when he won the Rumble, and then the title at Wrestlemania... If you take a look at the 2009 Royal Rumble you will notice some strong similarities. The point is, Randy Orton is FUCKING BORING.
