This news caught me off guard. Not cuz TNA is known for making great decisions but D'Amore has been for the improvement and growth of TNA wrestling for the last 2 decades and has been a big factor in their survival of the last 5 years. Big corporations can't own national companies. It's the reason why TKO will eventually fail with WWE. Wrestling was never meant to be national it was meant to be regional and on local TV. Ted Turner owned a national TV station and still He had to sell. People may not want to hear this but Tony Khan will be the only guy left standing because He has options and markets. U.S, UK and India.

Well - you can't say wrestling can't succeed nationally because WWE proved that's not true. TKO MAY fail but it's way too early to predict how WWE will end up post Vince. Let's face it - other than the couple of years when WCW was winning the Monday Night Wars, WWE has just dominated wrestling for almost 40 years. The whole regional thing stems from the days before cable and national broadcasts, because you had to depend on largely UHF stations. There's WAY too much money to go back to that model.@@sionrouge1697

I’m not sure what Brian is confused by, it makes a lot of sense from a BS corporate viewpoint. The guy who had been running things didn’t like the direction he believed it was going, he offered to buy it to stop it from going in that direction, they don’t want to sell it to him, but now they know he doesn’t like what you’re planning to do, so you let him go because you don’t want a contrary POV on your team. It’s a really stupid choice to make for something like wrestling where you can’t just plug someone into it and it hurts morale all around, but it sounds very much like something corporate would do.

Scott D'Amore was responsible for Impact Wrestling becoming great again and returning back to TNA. His firing made no sense, felt like a Vince McMahon regime choice.

Scott D'Amore meeting with Tony Khan confirmed. Lenard Asper (Anthem Sports and Entertainment Founder/CEO) and Ed Nordholm may have felt that after Scott D'Amore attempted to leverage an offer from Anthem Sports and Entertainment, that Scott D'Amore as TNA Wrestling President had too much power and influence with the promotion. Also, Scott D'Amore brokering a partnership with Endeavor and the WWE OR Anthem possibly in preparation to sell the company could have been the nail in the coffin. Scott D'Amore being the second in command at Court Bauer's Major League Wrestling or at William Patrick Corgan's National Wrestling Alliance both would be very interesting.

I haven't seen TNA /Impact for over a decade(2012) but I remember TNA improved a lot in late 2004, 2005 and most of 2006. I think D'More was booking during this time before being replaced by Russo. He was also credited (I think) for helping the Knockouts to get more coverage and over in the mid to late noughties.

One thing that was left out of this discussion was D'Amore attempt to bring in Braun Strowman and apparently for whatever reason that didn't go over well with Anthem. Now with the WWE Vince scandal, maybe Anthem got mad and felt it would bring about negtivity with D'Amore negotiating for Grace to appear in the RR and the recent signings of other former WWE talent. Its still stupid reasoning but there's really not much more to point towards when this firing just doesn't make any sense.

it makes a lot of sense - if the person in charge of your company wants to buy it, but you wont sell it to him, you have to fire him, because you will never know if that person will work 100 % for you and your benefit or for himself to get what he wants.

Anthem is most likely trying to get into the bigger time position like the behind the scenes of the E. TNA is available on the same streaming deal with TKO who owns the E & this also is why they had Grace in the Rumble & there's articles floating around that there's talks to have some more crossover business with each other in the future too.
@matthewhostetter8974

Anthem pretty much just did what no one else could do. They killed TNA. Scott D'Amore was the heart and soul of the company. It was he who got the company rebranded, he was the one who managed to get the likes of Okada and Opsreay on TNA PPVs and TV. Hell Scott was the one who worked out the deal that saw Jordynne Grace appear in the Royal Rumble as Knockouts CHampion and be treated like a star. There was so much good faith being done and this was his reward. Scott's replacement is just some guy from the office with no experience in wrestling and only cares about numbers. Where ever Scott lands you will see a mass exodus of talent to go where he is. There is also the rumor he wanted to buy TNA from Anthem, and with the backing of WWE/TKO or even the Snowman Khan he could do it. Hell Scott would be a huge improve to the Women's Rosters of WWE or AEW, or let him become the booker for NXT or ROH. Scott has the talent to be a real game-changer.The money Tony wasted on Botch Time Mercedes and Okada should have been spent on Scott.

No clue what I’m talking about, but NWA legit needs help after shooting themselves in the dick lol. I’m sure D’Amore has worked with Billy Corgan in the past. It’d be cool to see ROH get new management. TK needs to let other people take the wheel and drive. IDK the business side of MLW. They always seemed shady to me. What about OVW they’ve gotten popular recently because of Netflix, right? All this to say, I hope we get answers and can figure this mess out. TNA has regularly been one of the bright spots in the wreatling landscape for the last several years. Every time Ive seen someone talk about it theyve commented on how consistent and easy a watch it is compared to AEW or WWE. Scott knew what he was doing. Until Punk Collision, it was the most rasslin show available. The things holding it back has been budget and exposure. Since D'Amore took over, its also pushed a lot more digital with youtube and streaming. I have to imagine if Scott had bought it he could have gotten some more extensive streaming deal where TNA could have had more viewers. The AXS channel is in like 1/20th of the homes as USA or TBS. And the TNA tape library is worth gold
