I got my mother to watch wrestling for the first time this past Dynamite which was a good show that had a variety of matches to explain to a mark. 6 man crazy tag with gymnastics. 4 way women's match with interference that I explained would suck because it's just about advancing the story of a possible double turn. An amazing submission match of real wrestling. A brawl between 2 street fighters. A heel promo by MJF. A returning baby face promo by Adam Cole. IT HAD EVERYTHING for me to explain how each element works. Even some backstage segments to explain. A literally PERFECT training episode. Here are my takeaways: My mother was smiling during the Danielson match. Even she (who thinks it's all stupid) found it to be realistic & believable. She smiled during the Adam Cole promo. She loved the raw emotion & the come back story & the fans support. She cringed at MJF but sorta understood that's his job & laughed when he got chased away by Danielson. She really didn't pay attention to Moxley or Page at all & didn't stay for the 6 man tag. SOUND FAMILIAR? LMAO

All one had to do to realize this is a bad idea is see how Tony has handled ROH. There's no separate identity between those matches/shows and AEW's. Hell, Dynamite's "new look" is just a new entrance and color scheme change. They still focus on wrestling for the sake of it, lack of character depth, and not being able to let segments/matches breathe with the shows pacing. Super tired of Excalibur's spastic rundowns of entire shows multiple times throughout the night.

it's quite laughable how jim can sit there doing this show and act like running WWE would be too much for tony kahn when the guy does 80% of the work running the Jacksonville Jaguars which is a literal NFL team and a much bigger deal with way more moving parts than WWE. running an NFL team entails sooo much more than running a seperate entity like WWE, the Jaguars have to constantly work in tandem with 31 other teams in the biggest commercial sport in the united states and jim is so in love with pro wrestling he has delluded himself into thinking WWE would be harder to run and manage than a literal NFL team.

As for dynamites new look just being a new entrance and color scheme thats simply not true, there are several production improvements with the camera work alone, along with several other upgrades. Plus lets not pretend the new screens surrounding the entrance aren't fuckin awesome because they totally are. Anyways you seem to be more sensible than most of the people i've seen comment on this topic but i still find it extremely hard to believe that tony somehow couldn't figure out how to run WWE when the guy literally has like 9 jobs and never sleeps. he could definitely run WWE's day to day and big time operations both, though obviously the booking would probably suffer since triple H is more experienced and obviously vince is aswell even though his obvious dimentia has inhibbited his ability to book anything other than the main event angles well for quite some time now. For the sake of argument. As of January 2023, Tony's net worth is 1 billion and Shahid's is 11.5 billion. WWE is estimated at 6.7 billion. Like a week ago when this broke I looked it up and WWE was at 5 billion. Anyway, the source I saw that said the Khan's were actually in the mix said they were looking for additional investors to join in with them. The Khan's wouldn't be writing a check for 6.7 billion to Vince. It's highly likely that the Khan's, or whoever buys WWE, will have some mulit-level deal worked out similar to when Disney bought Fox Entertainment. That deal wasn't done with petty cash lying around, even Disney had to take out loans to make the purchase.

The history of networks buying wrestling promotions isn’t a good one. The difference I could see if it was WWE is that the acquisition price would be so high the network would have to actually focus on it and run it well. You can’t just set aside an investment of that high of an amount like turner or Sinclair did. A lot of the issues with turner and Sinclair is they acquired the company’s for low dollar amounts and just kept them as programming and never made sizeable investments to operate them well. For WWE it would be different because the size of the acquisition would force it to be looked after.

One would imagine that the sale of WWE would have the same structure UFC did. The new buyers would have to retain certain executives like HHH and a few others to run the wrestling aspect of the company. nobody but hardcore wrestling marks care about ROH though so it doesnt have any mainstream hype to get TV networks to want to invest in it. WWE is a different story. I don't see WWE being sold to the Khan family. Vince will not sell to the Khan. Tony Khan owning WWE would be a disaster or bad idea. Alot of talent are not being used there in AEW or getting TV time. The booking is bad and inconsistent. Not enough focus on the women division.
