For WWE's previous TV rights deal they agreed it 12 full months more or less before the previous one expired, it was agreed in late June 2018 to start on 1st of October 2019. The current one expires on 1 October 2024 meaning that if they followed the process they did before they'd be looking start negotiations for it now and have the fees finalised this June. Apparently with the current deals per year they get $265m for Raw and $200m for smackdown, and in 2022 their annual revenues were supposedly $1.25 billion, meaning that TV money accounts for a big chunk of their revenues. Negotiations for the next TV deal will have started with a view to finalising it in June, and the fact that Stephanie has abandoned ship as CEO, and Vince & the board members who negotiated the previous one are back, with TV number down generally and WWE getting half of the viewers they did in 2016, suggests that they might be having trouble negotiating a new TV rights deal and Big-Daddy Vince is back to try and pull a rabbit out the hat and negotiate a big money deal for the next 5 years which means everyone's salary isn't cut in half & there aren't big redundancies (or even better flog it to the Saudi Arabian Government investment fund before word gets out on how bad the next TV deal for Raw & Smackdown is going to be?!)...

@@Andysnyc good question... unless WWE are prepared to accept a gigantically reduced TV deal, yes. if fox/tv paid $450m per year to WWE for the raw/smackdown aderviising deal and lost $325m per year, so WWE's Raw & Smackdown is worth net $125m in ads revenue, with numbers dropping, so they'd be paid $75m per year for tv ads, a $375m downturn... i have also seen reports those figures are inaccurate & misleading... it is really hard to know what is going frankly... interesting times!

They said Shad Khan hasn't been a successful businessman? Shad has a private company that is worth twice as much as the WWE and it has over 12,000 employees, and facilities all over the world. WWE has 800 employees and 250 talents. Not even remotely close. To assume that Shad and Tony Khan can't manage a company the size of the WWE is stupid. Hell, even the Jags have nearly 600 employees, not counting players and coaches. Let's look at if Shad and Tony are good business people. The NFL Jags - Khans paid $770 million 11 years ago, Today the Jags are worth $3.7 Billion. Flex-N-Gate - Shad paid less than $15 million for it in the 1980's. Today the company is worth over $11 billion. Fulham FC - Shad paid $300 million in 2013, today the club is worth $731 million. Name me one company outside of the wrestling business that his father owned has Vince started and been successful at? You can't. They have all went bankrupt. The Khans are much better at running businesses than Vince McMahon ever has been.

No, with Vince owning approximately 92% of the Class B shares he/WWE would not necessarily reach out to the largest institutional investors as a courtesy. Comcast has still got to be the frontrunner to acquire WWE (Comcast spent months porting WWE content to the Peacock platform), despite the other prospective acquirers mentioned in the press. WWE advisors are trying to drive WWE's valuation higher by leaking names of prospective acquirers.

Nobody knows the value of content/rights fees because this is a new model of television with streaming. They are learning though and I think Vince is back to push a sale before the emperor is shown to have no clothes. That's their only real revenue at all and really only the tapes are valuable. I bet several classic PPVs on Peacock get more views than modern PPVs.
