Ole Anderson wrote in his autobiography that a pro wrestler should have the ability to perform a wrestling exhibition and entertain the audience while doing it. If you focus on the second part of that equation, there are a lot of "worst wrestlers" who have technical ability. And, to many fans, being boring is worse than not being technically sound.

And then there is his comic book series which is a whole other level of deranged. It even had dictionary entries to better explain the inner workings of the Ultimate Warrior's mind: "Destrucity: Tri-fold in its definition, therefore meaning... 1. The name of the Galaxy in WARRIOR wherein the “Terrain of Testament” lies. 2. The Living of one’s life in the Way of a Warrior according to a Warrior’s 8 Disciplines. Those are as follows: 1) Physical, 2) Beliefs, 3) Moment of Mastery, 4) Attitude, 5) Commitment, 6) Association, 7)Integrity, 8) Wisdom. 3: The creating of a truce between one’s Destiny and one’s Reality. Promising to stay true to what one is destined to be, yet accepting what is the now … one’s reality."

I believe Pat Patterson was the producer of that masterpiece. I mean he got the Ultimate Warrior to have an actual good match, funny thing that probably was the beginning of the end as that probably was his last good match too, and he had to still defend the title and have matches after that wonder why Ultimate Warrior failed so spectacularly as champion after that, thinking, thinking, thinking...

@@janus78 absolute nonsense and drinking the kool aid. It’s ‘trendy’ to say the warrior absolutely sucked in the ring but the fact is, he was part of a fair few good matches in his time and opponents such as Macho Man and Slaughter never said he was the shits, or took credit for the good match. Neither did Patterson. Many in the wrestling business who he didn’t ‘piss off’ personally (and given, he pissed off many, such as Cornie) have never talked bad about his ability to contribute to their matches. The real fact remains though that Jim Cornette is perhaps the greatest mind in the history of the wrestling business and who has some of the greatest insights ever, yet sadly now focuses all of his time on pure negativity based on the fact that he did some highly entertaining YouShoot videos back in the day, which gained a lot of traction back then. It’s perhaps the biggest tragedy that Jim chose to profit on that first and foremost with this Podcast which seems focused on sh*tting on people, rather than using it as a tool to primarily elevate the people in the wrestling business that he could actually help invaluably. With the experience that he has, a small donation of 10% of his energy towards positive and constructive criticism would be far more productive than ‘I will piss on Russo’s grave, I hate Kenny Omega and Warrior was a terrible wrestler’ for the five thousandth time. And hence, these negative debates ↑↓ Well done, Jim 👏

I think for "worst wrestler" you have to go with a wrestler that was featured on TV, was not a jobber and got pushed, and did not get over. The Ultimate Warrior is a pretty lousy wrestler but he was over. A guy like Giant Gonzalez also got pushed and was terrible but did not get over so he's a better candidate for worst ever. It's like the discussion for worst band ever. Obviously the worst band ever is some crappy high school garage band who were together for two weeks but for the conversation you have to go with a band that was signed to a major label and got radio airplay.

Jim does a good job explaining why he never gives an answer to this bone anyone sent him a question like this they need to list their criteria so he has the answer to that criteria whether he likes the criteria or not he could just say he doesn’t like it. For instance if we’re talking about the best wrestler ever this is my criteria The order matters too. 1. Impact on the business. When they were there at their height of popularity and when they left. 2. The ability to draw. Crowd/money 3. Mic/entertainment skills Nobody’s going to see your great wrestling if you can’t get them there 4. Accomplishments in the business. Titles big wins awards etc. 5. Actual wrestling ability. This is last but because you don’t want people putting as like Lance storm or Dean Malenko over people that were superstars in the business because they say “well he can’t wrestle as well” When in reality wrestling is an art like any other art acting singing rapping. People do that shit with rappers when they talk about “lyrical skills“ and then name some guy that 50% of the people reading the comments never heard of popularity matters in the entertainment business don’t tell me somebody is the most skilled and they never didn’t accomplish a quarter of what the other person did. I think that’s a fair list of criteria

I like how I know there are a lot of rotten wrestlers who Jim personally hates, but for this question he is legit fair as can be. There are 1000's of wrestlers whose training school was literally their mom's basement, so when being fair worst wrestler is much harder than best wrestler and Jim legit took this seriously. Though I believe other people would mention this Giant Gonzalez is probably as bad as any untrained wrestler ever, he probably makes Jim Helwig look like Buddy Rogers in comparison. I mean Ultimate warrior sucked too, but I think with a lot of these famous bad wrestlers they still had to have something to get them over in spite of how bad they sucked, but the true sucky wrestlers like turds stayed at the bottom of the barrel and only made a tv camera in the audience of shows.

I would determine this by Bad Gimmick, Bad Mic Skills, Bad Ring Performance. Whether they drew a buck or two shouldn't matter so much. But they'd have to be a name people would at least say, "Oh yeah! I remember that guy! LOL!".
