Vince's vision of wrestling could have been better for the last few decades. Still, this is the first time anyone else has figured out another way to do it that has caught on the same way he has. People either dig a hole for themselves trying to be so "alternative" that they become niche or have to do some half-baked copy of WWE that never goes anywhere.

When a few companies were doing two or three hours of television on the weekends in syndication with the PPVs and big shows every few months, wrestling seemed more like a holiday event that you looked forward to. The business is now a slough people feel like they have to endure, and the product just got watered to almost nothing.

He would need the board of directors to bring him back; if not, he could eventually use his voting power to remove directors that vote against him, but they could file an injunction to lock him out saying his presence and legal issues would harm the company, especially if they can get their tv partners, advertisers, etc. to say they would eventually end their respective relationships with the company. His only real option would be to find investors to buy it out and bring it back private , as any legitimate market or above market value for a publicly-traded company has to be entertained as part of the company’s fiduciary duty, but they could still lose their partnerships.

He is no langer chairman of the board (or even ON the board). He isn't the president of the company. He isn't even an employee. If Triple H, Stephanie & Nick Khan really believe Vince is coming back, they need to pull out all the stops to prevent it from happening. They need to go to sponsors & broadcast partners and get statements asserting they'd ditch WWE if Vince comes back (whether it be true or not). They need to keep track of stock volatility related to any hint Vince wants to come back. And, if necessary, they have to go all their employees (talent, production crew, office workers) and suggest they consider unionizing as a means to obfuscate any thoughts from Vince he can just slide back into power without issue.
