@josh portie they both stabbed each other. Sid went to Arns room with a chair leg, Arn grabbed scissors to defend himself; they both struggled over them and both stabbed each other multiple times. There aren’t any great reliable stories of the full extent of events and how they occurred thanks to everybody being fucked up but pretty consistently you hear that Arn got stabbed like 20+ times and was pretty close to dying in the deal. There’s obviously debate over the scissors and degree of fault but both got stabbed obviously.

He may have been Vincent in the NWO, but there he was just another face in the crowd, with very little exposure. You wouldn't notice him unless you had known him as Virgil in the WWF. Why don't he just go the Chyna route (rip) to make his cash. Sadly for him I doubt the lines at his table to just sign photos is ever going to be very long. Put something that is very long on display and he could probably double his asking price plus the money filming would pay him. What does anybody else think?

I don’t think there’s ever been much debate over Arn introducing the scissors but more so if it was self defense or if he was the aggressor. I don’t think anybody debates that Sid went back to Arns room to instigate either. The primary difference in how Sid tells it is whether he hit Arn with the chair leg. Sid claims that he went to his room with it but that he thought better of things and tossed away the chair leg and that Arn attacked him. Others say that he hit Arn with it and that Arn defended himself. Who knows the truth but both were obviously wrong.
@Rjensen2

@@theunknownone5990 That's because it wasn't true. He had the chair leg but didn't use it. He backed away from the door, Arn opened it and lunged at Sid, stabbing him four times. Sid then stabbed him many more times and kicked the hell out of him.

It wouldn't surprise me if you're not joking because there was that famous photo of him just standing in the middle of Grand Central Station in New York, with a stack of 8x10s and a little sign that said "WWE SUPERSTAR VIRGIL", and just kind of waiting for business that probably never came. I'd love to know why Virgil is like that. He's not a druggie as far as I know. I don't think he was ever part of the party scene, really. Probably made decent money while working for WWF, and WCW (being as stupid with money as they were) probably paid him way more than his market value. And I've also read that had a job teaching maths after leaving wrestling, so he may have some qualification there as well. So, I just have to wonder how all of that leads to being so apparently desperate. Maybe he's just a bit touched, mentally, and wants to get anything he possibly can out of his former modest fame.

Maybe Virgil is spoofing wrestlers who claim to have been somewhere they obviously weren't? Like Steve Austin and Kevin Nash both vlaim to have witnessed the Vader-Orndorff altercation in 1995, despite neither being in WCW at the time. Or people who falsely say that they are the one who told Dwayne Johnson to call himself "The Rock", and speak in the third person. Or the thousand people who all claim 100% that they and they alone brought Hulk Hogan into WCW.

I may have been slightly & slowly stirring it when I made that comment. Tbh I read it in a local newspaper at the time because the incident happened at a Hotel (no longer there) about 6-7 miles away from here and I was a frequent viewer of WCW Saturday Night which aired very early on Sunday mornings in the UK.

@KaneMagus Jim, who was not there, says Sid hid behind the door and attacked Arn with the broken chair leg. Col. Robert Parker who was Sid's manager at the time, who was also not there, says Sid faked a handshake then beat Arn with the broken chair leg. Sid, who was there, claims he tossed the broken chair leg down the hallway before Arn opened the door. Arn has gone on record to say he'd never talk about the incident and still hasn't. The only other person that was close to being there at the time was 2 Cold Scorpio, who got there right at the tail end of the fight and helped break it up. Vader and Stone Cold came into it in the aftermath when Sid almost bled out and Vader put his thumb in the wound to stop the bleeding. This whole story is a mess and keeps getting changed by guys, like Jim, that's weren't even there. This is the first time I've heard that Sid hid behind the door and ambush Arn. He also omitted the whole Arn throwing drinks and threatening Sid with a broken beer bottle before this happened because Sid said that old guys like Flair were holding younger talent down, which has been said by multiple guys there were there at the time for that. Also, the police report confirms what Sid was saying to be more accurate in that the chair leg was tossed down the hallway and not used, plus it had no blood on it.

Just the mention of Virgil and ANYONE would start laughing. Virgil doesn't have fame, he has infamy. He is, was, and ever will be a punchline. He may be a nice guy as what some people said, but in the wrestling biz, he is jobber royalty.

Sid tells it in such a way that makes Arn the aggressor.
@danielburger1775

Arn was the aggressor. And before that, they were arguing in the bar. Arn hit Sid in the head with a beer bottle. But it was broken up before anything else happened. So, THAT'S why Sid would go to Arn's room. Because Arn smashed him in the head with a beer bottle.
