Jackie Fargo challenging for the JUNIOR heavyweight title?? What was the weight limit, 250??
@insupportofjunhado Жыл бұрын
Jim's lecture on Night Of Champions reminds me of how ROH refused to another promotional angle after the CZW. They still had guys from other feds come in from time to time, did joint promotions with Dragon Gate, NOAH, Preston City, New Japan, CMLL, but they never went with company versus company feud while the CZW one was still in people's minds. Too bad the company didn't last long enough to have the one with TNA everyone would have wanted. Yeah, Honor No More, not the same.

So the champion not being seen for free is good but it's not good? That makes no sense. I think what WWE has done with Roman is awesome. It reminds me of old wrestling. The heel is being chased by multiple babyfaces while not being on TV every week. Say what you want about sports entertainment, but that's the closest wrestling has gotten back to wrestling in 40 years. I love it. It's teaching the fans to be a little patient and let things happen

One day someone will have to explain to me what’s so great about Jackie Fargo. Sputnik Monroe, yeah I get it. Fargo, not so much. I clearly must be missing something.
@Dr_C_Smith Жыл бұрын
Jackie Fargo was really a product of his time and that territory. It’s hard to explain because both of those conditions have passed. It’s like the film _Easy Rider_. It’s hard to watch now. It’s slow and weird and dated and doesn’t really hold up… but it was critical and crucial for its time.
@WyattHolliday Жыл бұрын
@@Dr_C_Smith The Easy Rider analogy made all the sense in the world. I’m not crapping on Jackie, either. I suspect there’s been at least one younger fan who has seen Bob Armstrong in GA or FL and asked, “How was this guy so over?” You had to be there in that time to fully grasp it. Thanks for the explanation, though! Much respect for Jackie, but I didn’t know if I was really missing something.
