We need to stop pretending the downslide of mjf is purely down to Tony’s booking. When mjf was there he was more than happy to do all the brochachos garbage.. that did serious damage. Then him taking time off to film other stuff also does damage. When did anyone get excited about Cody returning to aew after being off filming another tv show, not ever. It takes it from “oh my god they’re back” to “oh they decided to turn up for work today” so between all that and the kangaroo kick, I’m not surprised the pop has gone down.

Any wrestler who goes straight to Hollywood immediately after they start getting noticed as a wrestler tells me that they’re not as serious about the business as they are about making money. That’s not necessarily bad, but you can’t return to your wrestling job and continue to say, ‘I’m the best cuz I care about this business more than anyone,’ when your most recent actions have shown you most certainly do not. Money is why MJF went to Hollywood, and it’s why he resigned with AEW. He would’ve been a household name right now if he’d gone with WWE, but he chose more money and an easier schedule. Simple as that.

AEW has become a literal complete Joke . Jericho is getting paid to do whatever he wants and to troll the people who rightly point out the truth about him. Adam cole is so malnurished and light that UFc doesn’t even have a weight class hes heavy enough to compete in. Yet we’re supposed to believe he can beat up the former world champion ? Moxley gets to do whatever he feels like … such as go lose in white belt Jiujitsu tournaments , create low budget KZbin level short movies and pretend he’s the ultimate bad ass when we can see by his poor performance on a Sunday afternoon jiujitsu tournaments he’s not and it’s so cheesy no one cares at all. Not to mention there’s real bad asses like Lashley , Benjamin and MVP( a jiujitsu black belt who actually won worlds ) and you’ve got a billionaire with unlimited funds who somehow manages to produce a show that looks as low budget as TNA

What AEW needs to do is the old episodic TV formula, start the show with a follow on with what happened at the end of the last. IE... (back in the day_ Austin vs Trips for the WHT, show ends on McMahon screwing SCSA and Austin getting his ass handed to him by whatever faction was going at that point. Jr screaming "That dirty no good son of a bitch! theres going to be hell to pay next week, mark my word!" That shit used to leave me like "Oh shit, I cant wait for next week to see what SC does" Next week starts - Glass break, pissed off SC marches to the ring "Im pissed off" [WHAT?] "I said im pissed off" "This god damn show aint starting until McMahon walks his melee mouthed, backside out here and faces me man to jackass"..... Thats how you start a show.... even new fans were like "jesus, whats going on here" and they stayed for the whole show to see what would happen throughout and then the ending would be another cliff hanger leading to the week after. Its not rocket science.

AEW has a tournament and that is the easiest way to get your desired matches but with the round robin style, it goes up in smoke. You ultimately have match-ups that look awful in the ring and on paper. Just do a traditional tournament. But i understand why they dont because it would end too fast, and then they'll have 25 minutes with nothing to write about each week. Not to mention their getting beat by medicore youtube channels if we're talking viewership

Tony Storm is one of the few wrestlers who is unarguably better used in AEW than WWE, which says more about how ill she was used in WWE, but credit where it is due, she took her shot and benefited. Bryan Danielson and Jon Moxley are technically better used in AEW as well, which makes their refusal to actually wrestle to the best of their ability instead of the never ending self indulgence that much more disappointing.

They joke but Ricochet turning back into a masked Luchador because he’s been pushed around too much is a great angle. Keeps him quiet and protected, but also the ratings do tend to go up when he’s on TV. So as much as we make fun of him for the “flippy bullshit” him at least being a name people recognize form WWE resonates with the viewers

I watched an early episode of AEW and I was turned off right away. I believe it was a match with PAC and Trent and one of them forgot to kick out, while the ref just stopped counting at 2. That was the one thing that really stood out to me, but the whole thing looked so amateur. Not long after that I got rid of cable and I couldn't watch anything from AEW, outside of the clips the put up on KZbin. But the show has gotten so bad I'm almost intrigued to watch it, when they start streaming on Max
