He JUST won another match against all odds. A 4-way and he won. It gets old and annoying. I stopped watching dynamite and I won’t watch again until he is pinned or submitted. If they let him just drop the belt because of “injuries” then that won’t count for me. He has to be pinned or submitted.

It seems pretty clear that Tony does not know what he's doing when it comes to booking and promoting pro wrestling. It's also clear that most modern wrestlers don't understand ring psychology and why they should or shouldn't do things. I wish Jim would talk to these people in a way that would make Tony and the modern wrestlers not shutdown and tune out so that they can all learn from their mistakes and become a better booker and promotion. I feel that millennials and the younger generation aren't great at taking harsh criticism. I think that it's probably not a good idea to yell at someone for not knowing something that they weren't taught in the first place. It's frustrating to watch modern pro wrestlers and young people in general do dumb things in the ring and in everyday life, but it's the previous/my generation's fault for not teaching them a better way. The attitude era was fun to watch at the time, but it ruined pro-wrestling and everyone that was involved with it is responsible for what we have now unfortunately. I hope that one day things will get better, but it doesn't seem like it will.

@@ozzamus I don't know what shows they listen to in the locker room or how faithful they are just like I don't know what JR has or hasn't said to them. I don't expect AEW to get better, I don't expect that pro wrestling will ever be good again. I see an opportunity for a positive change in the business/sport of professional wrestling, but fragile egos, an inability to communicate and greed will keep it from happening. AEW likely won't survive because they will not improve their show and stop doing garbage wrestling and WWE will continue to put out it's boring nonsense. Pro wrestling is dead, Vince McMahon others killed it back in the 90s.

Tony Khan's a good promoter. He's gotten multiple AEW television shows on multiple two different television networks, gotten AEW four annual pay per views and regular closed circuit events. The commercials and video packages are professional and make even minute and ugly wrestlers look and sound special. He's not perfect, not even stellar with those ticket prices and market oversaturation. The cracks in the armor are showing, but he's still a good promoter. As a booker, he's laughable. As a talent relations overseer he's atrocious. As an operations officer he'd be suspended years ago by any professional organization serious about making money. As an executive officer he's a cringey public face and speaker. As a promoter however, Tony Khan is good. Not spectacular, but good. Imagine how much better he could be doing if he wasn't the COO, CEO, head of talent relation, Twitter analyst, booker and regular on air announcer.

Jim might be one the few people who might actually need to do these podcasts. Almost every other wrestling podcaster sold out and made a lot of money because they didn't really care about wrestling. If they need the money now, it's because they partied too hard and squandered it. Jim is the Dave Chappelle of wrestling. He could have had a permanent, high paying job in WWF/E with Vince McMahon if he could have sat back and let Vince Russo shoot his mouth off. As a former competitive swimmer, if someone came in and decided to make it more like synchro, I'd be upset too. It's not dancing underwater, it's competitive swimming. But the difference between me and Jim, while I 100% respect what he stands for and agree with him in principle, is that I would have said nothing and taken the money. Making a living is number 1. It's amazing how many wrestlers who make 6 and 7 figures just walk out or quit because of "creative differences." Sure, if I knew I could generate more money with my idea for a feud or a match and the boss just wants a boring squash match on free TV, I'd be pissed too. But then I'd look at my paycheque. Unless you're a main event draw (which doesn't mean as much now as it did then) who can get a high paying gig anywhere, at least you're getting paid good money. Sure, the booking might screw your opportunities for a number of years, but when you get lemons, you can still make lemonade - while getting a 6 figure salary in the process. Even in the 90s, guys were getting 100,000 a year on average. What other job could they perform that pays that kind of salary? That's why you saw so many cartoon characters in the WWF in the 80s and early 90s. George Gray had to play a racist caricature. Back then, it was either that or there's the door. I don't know what I would have done in that situation.

It probably sounds like a recurring theme, at this point, but Minoru Suzuki's another guy who will only take your professional wrestling show a as seriously as you do, he's been that way ever since he stopped fighting professionally and became a full time professional wrestler. The possibility that he might be physically broken down further hurts the chances of seeing anything great out of him on an AEW show. Well that's one thing to look forward to when Eddie Kingston retires, seeing what HE looks like skinny.

One thing about Hiroshi Tanahashi that doesn't translate to fans in the United States was he was dating Hitomi Hara. Who? She had a television show, but it didn't air in the United States. Furthermore, when fans, especially screaming young girls started cheering for Hiroshi Hitomi got jealous and stabbed him in the back twice. It'd be like Kelly Ripa stabbing John Cena, Raychel Ray stabbing Randy Orton, Queen Latifa stabbing The Rock, the news cycle would be eating it up for weeks, months even.

"Why do the girls want to chop, because I think that would be uncomfortable." Answered your own question Jim! Oddly, thinking about it, women should be a little more protected from chest chops than men. The woman body plan devotes less space to upper body muscles, while breast are basically glands and fat. Less power, more cushioning, but it's still covered in nerves, skin and blood vessels. It's still going to hurt, even if there is less risk for lasting damage. The biggest risk might be that someone breaks a finger on a collar bone or gets their show kicked off of television by accidentally knocking a mammary out of her opponent's shirt, but AEW wrestlers are trained professionals, who would NEVER make those kinds of mistakes! NEVER! If it's WWE there's also the added risk of rupturing an implant, but that didn't stop Michelle McCool from using the King Kong buster and Styles Clash, Beth Phoenix from using an elevated waffle face.

Watched forbidden door with a bunch of family and friends who don’t watch wrestling and ironically enough the person they found the most ridiculous wasn’t even orange Cassidy or the young bucks but jungle boy.

It will certainly be a great crowd. The Europeans always bring the energy 👍🏻 I just hope Tony Kahn steps it up with his booking and top tier angles. To build up to that massive show as best as possible. More Collision-style TV. Less schizophrenic-Dynamite-style “booking” 🙏🏻

@@parisbeech2180I sort of agree. The ten man match was a train wreck as expected. I was actually blown away by twinkletoes vs Osprey, mostly because I’d never seen Osprey (yea, I’m intentionally spelling like the bird) before and the dude amazed me. Such a great heel persona, like an arrogant, rowdy soccer hooligan who can back up his shit talk in the ring. The Callis bullshit almost ruined it for me, but only almost

Jim Cornette reviewing Dynamite is 10X Better than the actual show itself outside of MJF of Course he's the only reason why I watch Dynamite without him this show sucks the Gunns are great but their entrance is the only good thing about them in my honest opinion Orange Cassidy is stale and very repetitive.

The sad thing is I doubt he'll ever evolve much. I respect his title defense game, but some things has got to give. Like maybe have him lose it, and then rechallange later down the line after a nice long break

I can't wait to hear Jim claim the Omega vs Osprey match was rubbish, while at the same time talking up the cm junk fiasco. This years Bret Hart tournament is already been decided, cm junk to beat samoa Joe, tell me I'm wrong, it's a boring non interesting foregone conclusion. Jim might say, oh, there were dangerous spots in Kenny's match, all the while ignore the fact that Cash Wheeler nearly injured himself badly in the cm junk lazzzy booking match. Oh, and also he will attribute the great buy rate to cm junk, not the AEW/NJPW concept, let the copes begin from the cm junk nostalgia army.🤣😂🤣
