Around 42:50 or so Adam is talking about how "if computers could beat the best human grandmasters in chess....", this is no comparison to an artistic pursuit whatsoever. Chess, while not "solved" like checkers, is at the super-computer engine level basically a huge calculator, it looks at millions of possible move-sets and determines the best course of action. Chess is more science and math than it is art at the end of the day. Chess is completely different from stand-up, acting, music, etc.

I dont get the move away to have a “better” life thing. Having grown up in Petaluma, CA, which is nice, I then lived in multiple really really bad areas for many years, Bayview Hunters Point in SF, East Oakland for 9 years, East Palo Alto where 2 were killed on my porch before I moved in to rent a room and my Indian programmer got robbed and beat waiting for a bus.
